The seemingly unsolvable row between the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex would have been heartbreaking for their mother Princess Diana. That’s according to Richard Kay, the journalist who knew the late Princess of Wales best.
In a fascinating review of the year so far veteran royal correspondent Richard Kay looks at the big stories and assesses how the British Royal Family is faring after suffering a series of serious health crises and the continuing challenges with the exiled royals Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Prince Andrew.
Speaking to host Jo Elvin, Kay, who is the Daily Mail’s veteran royal correspondent, says he believes that Prince William and Prince Harry have been ‘tussling’ over the memory of their mother and ‘pulling apart her legacy’ using ‘which bit suits them best’

Will the British media be addressing Catherine, Princess of Wales, respectfully in the new show at least? The name she prefers, as announced by Prince William when the got married was Catherine, not Kate. I’m American, obviously I don’t know a lot about the Royal Family, but, I do remember that announcement the Prince made in Canada. Why doesn’t the British media respect their wishes?

Please don't sample Meghan's wine. I don't think that Lady Di would have been happy with Harry working an hour a week, for his charity. She would have expected more from him. Also, I do think that she would have been happy for him going out on his own, but not for his actions after leaving the family business. I feel, as a mother myself, that she would have been crushed with the way that Harry has treated his brother and his wife, because I think that she would have liked the Princess of Wales and that she would have hated Harry not supporting Prince William and not being his wingman.

Princess Diana would have been a mediator for them to work out their differences and encourage each of them to work together and work out their issues together with each other She wouldn’t support this division between them and certainly wouldn’t have liked Prince William attacking Harry like he did with violence towards each other over a woman and She would have put Megan in her place about how she would be expected to follow the rules of being in the Royal family and if she couldn’t deal with it then Princess Diana would have told Harry that this woman wasn’t right for him and I’m thinking that they are about to split because Harry has given a lot to be with Megan and he shouldn’t have had to give up his family and heritage and everything he’s ever known for someone who doesn’t respect his life of service to his country and his family She’s not worth giving up with everything he’s ever known he has a responsibility to his country and family

I think we can all speculate about how things might have been had Diana lived; Harry would probably be a completely different person (as would William) and everything that has followed, Meghan, etc could have been a totally different story! For a start, having made that mistake, would Diana have (successfully) cautioned him against such a speedy marriage until Meghan had a far better idea of what was involved and the expectations that would be placed on her? All that before whether she would be proud of him breaking away or if the relationship breakdown between the boys would even have happened.
However, sadly for them she did die, and such speculation only serves to create more division between the 'supporters' of each side. Personally, i think H&M have behaved very badly and I cant blame the rest of their family for being rightly cautious, if not downright averse, to any meetings with the 'escapees', especially while they are needing new/fresh income sources. But i think we should wait & see and leave the 'what ifs' behind. 😌

Harold is a complete traitor while William has retained his dignity and protected his family to the best of his ability – PLUS – he has not said one word about the Harkles. Harold broke security by mentioning, in his most discarded book, how to find significant areas of the Palace that should be protected. Obviously he or his puppet mistress cared nothing for Queen Elizabeth's safety.

I do not think even the Invictus games set Harry apart from the former abdicated King. The abdicated King Edward WANTED to be given something to do but couldn't be trusted. They flitted around from resort to resort because that ws all that was allowed. Harry has been allowed to continue doing the Invictus games. That he is ALLOWED to go on these faux Royal tours to nations with questionable practices is an absolute disgrace and dangerous. Hopefully a stop will be put to their behavior.
