Episode Description
#Primm, Nevada is located just 30 minutes from Las #Vegas and has quite an interesting history and story to tell. Primm Valley Resort got its start as Primadonna in 1990 as served for many years as the area’s flagship resort. Unfortunately it has fallen on hard times and the building today is a shell of its former self.
In this full Primm Valley Resort property #tour I’ll take you inside and outside of the sad looking property. From the dead mall which sits almost completely empty to the casino floor which has been gutted for the Buffalo Bill’s reopening, things are a bit shocking. The monorails sit abandoned, the property lacks paint and there is bird poop everywhere. But thankfully you’ll still find some beauty at this struggling resort in the middle of the desert and I’ll show it to you.

Getting the vibes of the 2004 Dawn of the Dead movie that took place in an abandoned shopping mall after a zombie apocalypse…
i have never visited primm valley
Why did it stop being so popular? It used to be super packed !
Ever since I was born my grandparents and my mom always drove to Vegas and we would stop by at the outlets and shop there but then I went to Vegas in 2021 I was heartbroken to see that the mall was just deserted and turned into an art gallery pretty much
The simple answer is that Primm needs law again. Without the Law there can be no standards and therefore no decent, worthwhile business.
This hurt I’m from Los Angeles an would visit here in 2009-10 went a while back in 2020 an it was dead empty hoping the population an magic back on these places
Being from T.O. I remember coming 1st time here spent lots of $$ back then….sad
I remember going to Buffalo Bills, Primm Valley Resort and casino and the outlet mall back in the day! When I was growing up in the early 2000’s it used to be packed and they once had a monorail station but then when we went back out last year it was sad a depressing to look at! It’s a shame what has happened to primm valley! Buffalo Bills was closed last year but there is hope for Buffalo Bills but still won’t be the same! Just a shame what has happened in the entire area in general!
At the Outlets they also used to have a full and packed food court! Such a shame that it doesn’t exist anymore!
Sad.. my hubby and I used to stay overnight at the hotel attached to the mall on our way to Vegas. We'd shop the mall. We did this in 2006-2007–2008 and 2009. 2009 was the last time we stayed there and went to Vegas next day.
I use to work there years ago just after the Herbst's bought the property. I started as a cashier at the Chevron gas station. And then became a slot attendant for the casinos. And later switched to the race & sports book. I worked at all 3 properties including a part time job at the Eddie Bauer store in the mall. Primm was a busy place back in the early 2000's and I enjoyed working out there. It's sad to see what it has become today.
In September 2022, when I drove across the country from California with my wife and kid, we stopped here to use a bathroom. This mall looked so incredible, but we were shocked at how empty it was! It was the most deserted mall we had ever seen.
I was living in Henderson in 2015 and having trouble finding work, when I interviewed at the offices of William Hill. They offered me a job at the sports book in Primm. They said they could put me up in a room at the hotel and that if I could endure a year of living/working in Primm, then I could get transferred to a different location or even promoted to an office job. I initially accepted the job offer and they ordered a uniform and arrangements started being made to move me out there. But I was feeling increasingly uneasy about it, realized that living in such an isolated environment would be bad for my mental health so I declined the job in the end. After watching this, I'm so glad I trusted my gut! Phew! At least I got a couple great kitties out of it (my cats were kittens rescued from a parking garage in Primm!).
Sad I would rather stay in Primm then Las Vegas anytime it’s so much more comfortable and quiet 😢
the Nevada Independent reports that Primm casinos own-ship plots to recapture the market.Swissman suggest Primm-casinos-reopen-as-ownership-plots-course-to-recapture-the-market . suggesting the casinos build a relationship with Primm Valley Golf Club ,7 minutes away owned by MGM Resorts International.
I do not see enough people to justify the place even being open. Has to be some type of behind the scenes reason.
I have fond memories of Excalibur. Stayed once in 1993 but usually visited at least once on each trip. I always found the casino floor a bit confusing exactly because of the cross layout.
Guess if it keeps going that way, it might start to look the the "Primm" that they showed in the "Fallout NewVegas" game.
I live in Reno, Ive always been a fan of Fallout series, in Fallout New Vegas, they have a town of Primm out of curiosity I decided to check and see about Primm, amazing how much the game maker got right. Although it wasn't 100%, it did make the effort to do their research. Yes they don't have all of Primm in the game just a good slice for the game. Now I need to make a trip to Primm.
My mother was Mr. Primns secretary for 15 years back in his Gardena days when he owned the Rainbow and Monterey Clubs. The good old days!
With how expensive everything is it doesn’t surprise me that it’s going out of business. I wouldn’t be surprised if the galleria eventually shuts down also.
Yes, I shopped in this mall and ate at the buffet in Primm Valley casino. I loved going to the mall as it was quiet and name brand merchandise were real bargains. I agree the casino was very quiet but the atmosphere was pleasant and the clean. I do hope they will get an opportunity to advertise more so there would be more traffic and more shoppers. So sad to see how the mall had become so quiet and abandoned.
That’s too bad really what should go on there to get that place going is that all those owners of all three casinos need to get together and try to promote and get people back in there but they haven’t done any of that they need to really promote that place !!!! If needed hire somebody that can help them getting thing going Again Thanks for sharing.
If they don’t look to do something with these three casinos and the mall Everything will be close pretty soon give it a year or so and things will start really going. Downhill I used to stay here all the time but I don’t anymore. I’ll go to Laughlin Nevada don’t even go to Vegas. I think a lot of people go to Laughlin and don’t even go to Vegas anymore
Any follow up to this? It's been a year.
I worked at the casino at the time MGM sold it off.
