Prey Review

Prey debuts on Hulu on Aug. 5, 2022. Review by Tom Jorgensen.

Dan Trachtenberg’s Prey never lets up. It’s full of the Predator franchise’s trademark violence and tension, but it’s the ferocious, star-making turn from Amber Midthunder that stands as its greatest strength. The movie’s sole focus on her lead character, Naru, means that the supporting roster comes off a little wooden, but when Prey’s tracking the young warrior’s duel with the Predator — full of powerful imagery and creative kills — it rarely falters.

  1. Just saw the film dubbed in Comanche with English subtitles. Awesome movie, first predator film to ever see (yeap I've never seen the others). Amber Midthunder did a great performance as Naru. Don't be surprised if she gets nominated for a major award.

  2. I‘d love to see one ore a oack of predators landing in medieval france.. maybe stealthing down a knight- hunting party.. a full armored knight would maybe be invisible behind his plate.. 🤔😬

  3. reading the comments…I feel the world of cinema will really struggle with the fan fiction that viewers on the channel hold. Feudal Japan? really? can we not just be happy with what we got and stop trying to push the envelope of your fantasies. It's the same want that has driven comic book movies to the point of exasperation.

  4. If you're going to review a movie get your facts straight. It was filmed in Alberta not British Columbia. Missed details like this are the reason people don't subscribe to channels that don't do their homework.

  5. Interesting how 'Prey' was filmed mostly in Alberta, Canada🇨🇦…..
My question, while watching a movie supposedly set in 1719 in the vague area of "The Northern Great Plains" , was where exactly north is this nomadic Comanche band supposed to be? The movie absolutely took place before the southward migrating Comanche (once Shoshone) became renowned for their horse culture and reputation (correct or incorrect) as aggressive/war-like "Lords of The Southern Plains" and Comanchería inhabitants 🇺🇲🇲🇽.

  6. They should of left the gun reference for another movie where a crew of pirates come to a huge remote island and they come across the predator which is the old predator we see in predator 2 & in the 3rd act he is almost killed but he gets very lucky and kills the last pirate last minute (main character) and thus takes the pirates gun from 1718 as a token since the guy died with honer
