Honestly, Naru came across as absolutely full of herself. Half if not most of her dialogue is just her telling herself and others how cool she thinks she is. It doesn't help that a handful of her tribe members including her brother died because she wanted to stoke her ego by hunting the predator.
It sucked. For a shitload of reasons: shitty plot, dumb physics, bad CGI, dumb characters, and the obvious Mary Sue Lara Croft wannabe with plot armor skill that climbs up the corporate ladder and becomes CEO in the end, while drawing the wrath of a much more powerful corporation.
I dunno Joe, you kinda start sounding like a simp when you're defending such bad movies.

I was wrong about this movie.
I saw the trailer and thought this was just another crappy predator sequel with an even worse name than the rest.
Bust I just love every scene of this movie and it has the pacing and thrill of the original. It’s just amazing and as a predator fan since I was 5 I couldn’t ask for better especially since most of the sequels are awful

Great review good movie! Love the point that you guys make about bashing the audience over the head with the almost "girl power" stuff.
It's never needed, blokes love a strong female character! Always have! But when it's bashed over their head with to many tropey stuff it turns them off! When handled well it's always accepted with open arms!
Other than the cringy-woke scenes and lines, overall the movie was okay. the fighting scenes were bad-ass and how they adopted old predator technology for those times.
Disney owns most of Hulu so don’t get the argument and the messy license

Shit CGI, a plot full of so much holes it represents swiss cheese more than anything else. A 50kg teen girl wins a fist fight against an alien Predator.
We have a girl stepping in a bear trap and has barely a scratch on her. No relateable character in the whole movie, tribesmen dead due to her unable to follow basic instructions, brother died because of her. Main character is a selfish, selfcentered, selfabsorbed brat, the only decent character was the Dog in this movie!!! Manages to operate alien tech after a few glances while chaos ensues around her. Can load and fire a gun, something she has no concept of, after a quick verbal explanation. Tricks the ALIEN Predator to killhimself…
Feels like Disney has been paying every possible media platform to advertise this piece of shit!!!
I would like to see a movie version of the AVP book THREE WORLD WAR. I really liked that story and it takes an already established human who was part of a predator clan that left and is working with humans and predators to fight Xenomorphs.
This movie was terrible. It’s not better than the original, let alone Predator 2. I’d even watch the 2018 one before watching this one. Was not impressed.

I’m sorry but Joe your movie reviews are absolutely shocking. I don’t even know what to say anymore. 8/10 for this poorly written, mediocre Mary Sue garbage. Stick to game reviews because it seems you’d give anything a high rating nowadays. This is Disney crap with the same old formula. EXACTLY the same as Halloween Kills, gory kill scenes with poor writing and plot all around it.

this movie has a fight with a space alien, a mountain lion, a bear, a wolf, rabbits, and a couple frenchmen.
I dunno if I believe "their tech hasn't advanced far enough for plasma casters." bit. They're traveling to Earth and it probably wasn't their first time so it's safe to assume their tech is rather advanced. Might of been a change in culture through time or could be associated with the Predator's rank.
I love Predator 2. There are stupid scenes like the subway "fight" but you can't beat Bill Paxton (RIP) and Garry Busey in the same movie.
My ideal Predator movie would be Dredd vs Predator. They have decently advanced tech so it wouldn't be an absolute slaughter. Would be a licensing nightmare though.
