Prey is coming to Hulu August 5

“Prey,” an all-new action-thriller from 20th Century Studios directed by Dan Trachtenberg (“The Boys,” “10 Cloverfield Lane”) and the newest entry in the “Predator” franchise, will stream August 5, 2022, exclusively on Hulu.

Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.

“Prey” is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, written by Patrick Aison (“Jack Ryan,” “Treadstone”), and produced by John Davis (“Jungle Cruise,” “The Predator”) and Jhane Myers (“Monsters of God”), with Lawrence Gordon (“Watchmen”), Marty Ewing (“It: Chapter Two”), James E. Thomas, John C. Thomas and Marc Toberoff (“Fantasy Island”) serving as executive producers.

The filmmakers were committed to creating a film that provides an accurate portrayal of the Comanche and brings a level of authenticity that rings true to its Indigenous peoples. Myers, an acclaimed filmmaker, Sundance Fellow and member of the Comanche nation herself, is known for her attention and dedication to films surrounding the Comanche and Blackfeet nations and her passion for honoring the legacies of the Native communities. As a result, the film features a cast comprised almost entirely of Native and First Nation’s talent, including Amber Midthunder (“The Ice Road,” “Roswell, New Mexico”), newcomer Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp (“Sooyii”), Michelle Thrush (“The Journey Home”), Julian Black Antelope (“Tribal”).

  1. For those of you without the Return YouTube Dislikes extension, this has 15,857 Dislikes at the time of posting. Considering no one likes this trailer and there is not a single negative comment for all the Dislikes I'm willing to go out on a limb and say most of the Likes are fake and comments are being censored so you get the mistaken impression people are looking forward to

  2. More WOKE bullshit and I'm native myself (Navajo/Mohave). Thinking a 5 foot, slim college student Native American girl can take on a creature that even Arnold himself had a hard time killing isn't a great selling point of a good movie. Even Billy had the balls to square up with the Predator and he got his spine ripped out. We expect this girl to kill it? 😂Piggy backing off of original content that were by men you'd know the movie be trash. Can't wait for the sequel, 𝗣𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀 𝗩𝗦 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿: 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆.

  3. The problem with the predator sequels is that there wasn’t much left to tell after the first one, that and they got worse and more confused as time went on. But this is the perfect film to give new life to this franchise, lots of people wanted a predator film in a different time period, glad they listened. This film has everything predator fans want, we don’t need this prequel to explain everything about the predators, that would ruin the mystery of it, but it looks like a simple, riveting film. Exactly what it should be, can’t wait.

  4. SPOILET ALERT

I watched the test screening and this predator,

is a non binary gender fluid "super"predator that supports the alphabet community and wears a pride patch on its arm. They only hunt little children. They're know as MAP's.

This film rocks! President Biden makes a special cameo. The the Minor Attracted (super) Predator can't find any kids until he sees an old lost man that he befriends. The old man has a strong sense of smell and can track children with his nose. They end up hunting together and then he remembers he has a dungeon full of immigrant children from South America.

I don't want to ruin it for you, but it's awesome.

  5. Well I hope they enjoyed throwing away all that money they used to make those ….. for nothing. Get woke, go broke. I bet they even try to throw in a “white men are evil” narrative in there somewhere too haha. Didn’t they steal this whole concept from a can fiction made a couple years ago?…. Hmmmm

  6. This is the end of a once great film that became a shitshow of a franchise 🤦🏻‍♂️ at least they can push the message with a strong uhum female lead. Can’t kill a bear but?? 🙈

  7. Predator: Prey belongs to the comic book series in which Darkhorse Comics created in the 90s. As a result of it's success, during it's time, the comic was turned into a small novel trilogy. Preditor: Prey, Preditor: Hunter's Planet, and Preditor: War are the titles used for the series. It was an extraordinary good series. Looks like the movie is based upon the same concept

  8. I'm preparing to be disappointed by yet another force-feeding of wokeness and unintentional insults to Native culture.

I won't be coming off any shekels for this one.

  9. You know I love Predator, I would like for them to tell more on Jim Hopper and it seems Carl Weathers character and the old predator had some history based on how he teased him and brutally slowed down his assault on him. Or even the pirate they took the gun from on the predator 2. There are tools to make the series good. This looks great though
