  1. Scotland have nothing to prove – England have EVERYTHING to prove. Let's hope what we see are two team coming out for their first game to make a statement about their intentions … and we get decent ball-in-hand rugby with no red cards! Could be a cracker!

  2. Could go anywhere this one. 2017 or 2018 batterings, 2019 complete madness (especially with the backline Scotland have gone for), tight games like the last three. So many variables at play, new coaches, new players, or changed line ups to emphasise speed and attack. Who even knows.

Kyle Steyn is a particularly interesting pick. As he's not like for like with Darcy, who has the speed and footwork. But he's similar to Maitland, less speed but good tactical skills, always in the right place, holds width when he needs to and so on.

  3. Good afternoon 2cents my view there lot of hype around with Borthwick as new coach I think it will take time for Borthwick to create winning test team but basically it the same team Eddie would pick I think Scotland will be favorites but the English pack can get the better of Scottish forwards then they are in with a chance English back row needs to close down Finn Russell and stop Scottish Three quarters running riot at Twickenham England need a fast start get fan's behind them England have been down for few seasons so only way is up 🏉🌹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🧐🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

  4. I think England will come out in a positive manner due to the coaching change, whether they can maintain that and how much they’ll improve as the tournament goes on is another question entirely

  5. I have a gut feel that the Bagpipes are going to pull this one off away from home. But, I suppose, it will all depend on how much blood the lads will have in their whisky streams! 😂 Been waiting too long now for the 6 Nations to start so I'm really looking forward to this one. May the best team win, as long as it's not The Rose! 😂 Should be a cracker! Enjoy chaps and cheers from Safferland.

  6. I think England will win this one by less that a score.
I wouldn't start Huw Jones, instead of Harris. England like to come out of the blocks really fast. Jones would be better of the bench when gaps start to appear in the English defensive line.
I'll be chearing Scotland, but I think England will take this one.

  7. If I was betting, I'd be awfully tempted to take Scotland +10. My guess is England will win, though it will be close, but I'm pulling for Scotland all the way. Scots will miss D. Graham on wing. How is Farrell doing with defense at 12? Should the Scots run at him?

  8. Think the scots will take this especially as its Borthwicks first game- can take a while for players to get used to a different system especially if Russel is on song with that Scot backline. however if England win, its definitely going to be off high 'screw this' attitude that can happen (Rassies first game v Eng 2018, Rennies first game v ABs 2020 + Scotlands recent form over the pommies can serve as inspiration ) which probably will go throughout the year. In short if Scotland win, England’s chances at least with the 6 nations are screwed however if England win then who knows whats going to happen especially with a favourable England draw at the WC

  10. If tomorrow Twickers has returned to the cauldron it used to be, before the tickets became so pricey that only the prawn sandwich brigade, corporate, floater-fans took residence, then it will be a great chance for England to start the tournament with a win, for a change. Hope so. Show any weakness and Scotland will punish us because we all know the Scots find another gear playing England.

  11. I was really hoping we'd seen the last of the 2 fly-halves experiment, but hey ho. OHC getting a start is exciting and long overdue. Malins at 14 is a worry- not sure how well he'll handle van der Merwe. Overall, reasonably happy with the selections but the midfield is a concern.

  13. Great Preview TC, how you can remember all of the players I don't know. I'm so looking forward to tomorrow games. If Ireland lose, I'll be so depressed but… here's hoping that we can repeat our U20s win today.

  14. Was great watching down south in a pub! Usual British gobby Estuary English mockney cockney wankers, very loud! Suddenly silenced with all the excuses. VDM’s try? Hilarious and brilliant! Oh dear, Oh Dear! 😅
And they have to play Ireland and France yet? 😅😅
    A Shilacking awaits!

  15. Just watched it.
    Dammit!
England need to reset their defence quicker and f++up Russell quicker.
    However –
Interesting stuff compared to the Eddie Jones era and (unsurprisingly) the pack seems better at the set piece (AT LAST!!) but the defence still needs a LOT of work.
Still not convinced by Smith. Not big enough to stick the tackles. Talented with the boot and going forward …. BUT..
We English HATE losing to the bloody Scotch…
    Gutted mate.
