  1. The employee negotiations/reedy creek replacement stories are bad enough… but can I bring up how BAD splash mountain's replacement sounds? A food factory in a salt mine…? WTF IS THAT?? I am willing to bet $100 that everybody will be confused by the story, and that most of the ride will be a skin of the old one.

  2. Tom, Disney truly needed to lose its special privileges in Florida once Chapek declared that the company planned to use its resources to override the will of the Florida legislature, veto legislation, and write new laws against the will of the people of Florida. That was a bridge too far and Florida needed to hit back hard. No corporation can do what Chapek did with this and not expect a serious rebuke. So going forward Disney will be on the same playing field as Universal and Sea World are and not have its own fiefdom. This is how it should be. And the state of Florida will establish governance for this area the same way that governance is established for Universal. Chapek cost Disney perks that no competitor ever had and Florida was completely justified to take away Disney’s fiefdom. It’s a Screw Around and Find Out case study that should be studied in business school in classes dealing with poor leadership and disastrous CEOs.

  3. 1:37 I know you’re upset about this whole thing by the way you’ve talked about it in the past but you do know it said “in the last 3 years” not “ever” right?meaning anyone who quit or was fired before 2020 is eligible and they are most likely tons of those ppl so it’s really not that big a deal. I do otherwise agree that it does have the potential to be either better than it is now or REALLY BAD in comparison.

  4. Reedy Creek and Florida. “The Government that governs best governs least”. Except for political reasons? I thought it was wrong for gummint to interfere with business.

  5. Okay, what wage would Disney employees be happy with? Because there needs to be a line somewhere. I’m more than fine with some higher wages given Disney’s revenue, but my problem would be that people that wave guests through a queue line could end up making more than somebody working a job in a more “involved” field.

  6. Disney scam the State since ever with this fake district , (EPCOT center was supposed to be the district), Truism in Florida will increase with Universal Epic Universe, DIsney is not the only player in 2023 in the big Tourism, Disney try to play politics with Eiger and Chapek , they lose. Disney should stay in the Parks, (why the parks don't look as pristine as they look before) .Get the message Disney: Executives , invert in your parks & resorts , restore the perks in staying in your hotels and dont try to scam the State again, (California ages ago will stop your fake distric )
I wish Disney would go back to their former glory! I Hope

  7. I love how you support the cast members. They are the ones that make a Disney vacation magical. I will say though, some cast members have slipped. I have had several run ins with cast members over my past 2 vacations. There were 3 times sassy cast members who are lucky that they had those attitudes in Disney, because if it wasn’t in Disney, they would have had a real world problem. But I would never act out of anger in Disney because I love it too much and I wouldn’t let a few bad people ruin my overall admiration of cast members.

  8. Irritating your customers is a short term business model.

I agree, Florida dissolving the Reedy Creek Improvement District is odd BUT
it is a RESPONSE to W.Disney($DIS) actions. Disney picked this fight, and now Disney is suffering the consequences.
Still unclear why W.Disney($DIS) needed to comment AFTER Florida passed the "Parental Rights in Education Act".
Essentially Disney is saying they are AGAINST Parental Rights for their children's education.
This is Disney's undoing; NOT focusing on providing awesome vacations, movies and entertainment
and INSTEAD focusing on something else.

  9. We need beignets brought to the vicinity of the new Tiana attraction! It’s worth the trouble of going to The French Quarter, in order to get fresh, hot beignets… but wouldn’t it be an amazing addition to MK???❤️

  10. Can you just confirm that the house keeping is full house keeping at every Disney hotel and is it fully back for the likes of pop centenary or are hotels like pop just having house keeping every other day and full clean on every 4th day the reason I’m asking is because I’m a little confused because Tom said it depends on what hotel you are staying at.

  11. Tom keep up the fight to say exactly what needs to be said. We all love this theme park art form but you can love a thing and be critical of it at the same time! Disney should do right by their cast members they are what makes my memories so special when we vacation at any of the parks. Also just throwing this out here maybe they should put Tom on the board for reedy creek LOL! someone not technically associated with Disney but has knowledge of theme parks!

  12. I live in Poinciana but work in culinary and barely make $16.40hr for being a cook 2 on the bottom. I don't even want to imagine college program! they start/make $15hr. and pay all that money to live the Disney housing…

  13. This is why I watch this channel!!! I love how Tom speaks about the news and doesn't allow the new ride news to cover the real issues that are happening in Disney and how he supports the cast members. Disney wouldn't be what it is without the wonderful cast members! ❤

  14. I love the cast members… and Disney is cheap in how their pay scales… But just so we are all clear… When all cast members get $20 an hour, NO ONE can complain when the ticket prices go UP again. Cause they will. And forced increase wages across the country is part of why we have inflation all over the place. So you make more money… but everything gets more expensive. It's a losing battle.

  15. And regarding the housekeeping. YAY, Disney is back to doing what EVERY OTHER HOTEL CHAIN has been doing through most of the last 3 years. I NEVER stayed at a Marriott that didn't do daily housekeeping over the last 3 years. And they are usually WAY less expensive than Disney resorts.

  16. With all due respect, there are plenty of people in the state of Florida who know how to manage the functions of the Reedy Creek district. Universal, Busch Gardens, and SeaWorld don't have a special district and they operate just fine. The roads and emergency services in their areas are managed just fine. My husband is in local government here in Florida and works with other people at many different levels of government throughout the state. Disney doesn't have any special function that the state government is unable or unknowledgeable to handle.

Disney is losing their state-granted privilege because they leveraged it when threatening to overturn a law protecting children in the school system and had nothing to do with the workings of the Disney corp. As a Floridian, I don't want a California-based entertainment company influencing laws that protect children and the rights of their parents. Bob Iger said he doesn't support the Parental Rights in Education law. That's freedom of speech. Bob Chapek threatened that Disney as a company would overturn that law. Disney is not a legislative or governing body in the state of Florida. They overstepped their realm of influence and are paying the price.

  17. Why wouldn't a state appointed board be fully capable of understanding the operations of theme parks? Universal Orlando is situated within a special district called, the Orlando Redevelopment Agency. Universal pays their taxes to the district to support infrastructure. Universal seems to work well with the state.
