Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled its upcoming addition to the Prima Class, the brand-new Norwegian Aqua, scheduled to set sail in April 2025. With a length of 1,056 feet, Norwegian Aqua will host 3,571 passengers and introduce the revolutionary Aqua Slidecoaster, the world’s first hybrid rollercoaster and waterslide. This innovative attraction comprises dual slides and a magnetic lift, propelling riders through two distinct courses, featuring three stories of thrilling twists and turns around the ship’s funnel.
The cruise ship will also feature the new Glow Court, a digital sports complex with an interactive LED floor that transforms into a vibrant nightclub during the evening. Additionally, there will be a 10-story free-fall slide called The Drop.
Notably, Norwegian Aqua will offer the largest accommodation at sea, debuting its Three-Bedroom Duplex Haven Suites in The Haven, a keycard-access-only complex. These two-story suites boast three bedrooms, king-size beds, a spacious balcony, and floor-to-ceiling windows, providing breathtaking ocean views.
The Haven on Norwegian Aqua will be the fleet’s largest, comprising 123 suites, an expansive sundeck, an infinity pool with a view of the ship’s stern, an outdoor spa featuring a glass-walled sauna and cold room, two hot tubs, and an exclusive bar offering rare spirits and vintages. Guests will also enjoy 24-hour butler service and a dedicated concierge team.
Additionally, Norwegian Aqua will introduce expanded solo staterooms, including solo inside, solo oceanview, and solo balcony options, all available at reduced fares compared to double occupancy.
Guests can relish stunning ocean views from Ocean Boulevard, an outdoor walkway encircling the entire ship, complete with a glass bridge, Oceanwalk. For more scenic experiences, there’s Infinity Beach, featuring expansive vistas and serene pools overlooking each side of the ship, along with La Terrazza, an open-air lounge offering sweeping sea views.
Currently under construction at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard, Norwegian Aqua surpasses its sister Prima class ships by 10%. Norwegian Cruise Line highlights that the vessel will provide more outdoor space and the highest staffing levels among new contemporary cruise ships. Further details about additional features aboard Norwegian Aqua will be revealed at a later date. Staying true to the tradition of captivating hull art, Norwegian Aqua will showcase the work of Allison Hueman, a Filipino-American multidisciplinary artist from California and NCL’s first major female hull artist.
