Yuletide is a Celtic/Viking/Germanic tradition.
The whole concept of decorating a tree with gods (baubles) and placing a sacred being on top like Odin (or angels) is all from Viking history. The 12 days of Christmas was originally the 12 days of Odin riding in the sky.
