This video is my second update for the potential for a widespread, possibly significant, multi-day severe weather event during this upcoming week, around the Tuesday-Wednesday, April 12-13, 2022 timeframe.
I am in two slight risks as of now, one for each day.
Due to me having classes all week, there might not be an update on the severe weather until the afternoon arises on April 11, 2022 – but even then, it will be a quick one and will only feature the outlook graphics and risk area breakdowns, AccuWeather’s forecast graphics, and my confidence tab and own thoughts.
My thoughts: Confidence level is 5 out of 7 (High confidence) in severe weather occurring. I would not be surprised to see any of the enhanced risk areas expanded even further and/or even upgraded, although an upgrade for either day appears unlikely – but with mother nature, anything is possible. The fine details still have yet to be ironed out, such as exact timing and location.
Tuesday, April 12th, 2022: All severe hazards are on the table, including tornadoes, damaging winds, and large to very large hail events.
Wednesday, April 13th, 2022: This is where the most uncertainty still lingers because as of Sunday, April 10th, 2022, the severe risk is beginning to trend eastward compared to the update on Saturday, April 9th, 2022; however, all hazards still appear to be on the table.
What you can do: Prepare now and monitor later forecasts for any updates. Always be sure to get your information from a trusted source and take action immediately in the case of a life-threatening event like a severe thunderstorm or tornado warning. Remember that a watch means conditions are favorable for severe weather and is your heads-up that severe weather is possible in the next few to several hours; a warning means that severe weather is occurring or imminent and that you need to take immediate action.
