Feel free to disagree but, I know y'all want more fan favorite tracks, but I obviously chose first time retros not counting Tour. Amd I know some tracks may not fit in that cup. Some tracks I chose over others like Wii Bowser's Castle, its technically more of a fan favorite than DS's or GCN's. N64 Wario Stadium and GCN Wario Colosseum might make Nintendo not add both in one game.
After all this Switch 2 stuff, I want to see a ranking of every Mario Kart Gimmick, you know, like Double Dash, having two players in a kart, or anti-gravity. But I wanna wait until Mario Kart 9 comes out. Just so it's fair for the ranking.

Luigi Circuit, Vanilla Lake etc were all remade in tour

I just did this for fun, if we had more cups in MK8DX then I'm pretty sure this next mario kart game will have too (or at least it should if it wants to beat 8DX)
I know no one really cares but here’s my opinion and changes I would make to each of these:
Shell cup is a very good selection. I would switch the order of Yoshi falls and Mario circuit but it’s still a strong choice with a similar vibe throughout without being repetitive. Good job.
Banana cup is once again great choice. I wouldn’t make any changes.
Leaf cup is again quite strong though I wouldn’t argue Yoshi’s island was not a homage track. Yoshi is a Mario character and the first game was Mario world two. It fits the vibe of this cup much better and i personally prefer this track.
Lightning cup is once again a great set. I wouldn’t argue GBA rainbow road should go here as GCN rainbow road fits much better with the fan favourite theme of the Bell cup but it still works great.
The Egg cup I disagree with on a fundamental level. I disagree with the philosophy of changing up these tracks like that but I think this would make a good selection without said massive changes (except lakeside park. You can change that one)
Bell cup. Fantastic choices. I still advocate for the GBA and GCN switch but still. I do think it needs reorganising tho. Going Wuhu, Bowser, Wario, Rainbow. Just feels better paced.

I'd be so upset if they chose GCN Rainbow Road over GBA Rainbow Road for it'd break the order. If you replaced their placements it'd be good to me.

I think that we will get gba bowser castle 4, I know it is a basic bowser castle, however the tour version got a massive glowup. Even more than snes bowser castle 3. Because of it a lot of people thought it would be a booster course pass, but I think they were making it for the next Mario kart game.
i wonder how the mario kart 8 retro tracks will be done without anti-gravity, unless that carries over in this new game.. but time will tell

ah yes my favorite gcn course….. super bell subway honestly though unless we see huge changes in courses with remakes i dont want ANY courses touched from 8deluxe id rather have all courses not already made in 8D to have a chance
Honestly, this may be a bit of a hot take, but i don't think we need any mk8 tracks in the next game. we've been playing those tracks for so long now, and even with a new game, mk8 is also playable on the switch 2, so it's not like those tracks are being left behind. I wouldn't say any of mk8's tracks are in major need of tweaks, and those slots could be taken up by other tracks in more dire need of touch ups and revivals.
3DS Mario Circuit = 2nd* race of Flower cup
Wii U Thwomp Ruins = final race in the Mushroom* cup
DS Airship Fortress = 3rd race of your Lightning* cup
Actually, this new game would be Mario Kart 10! We already have Mario Kart 9 with Tour!
Based on what we've seen, I think we could get a Mario Kart with NO retro tracks.
MK8D was a celebration of the franchise.
And while it would be nice to see the franchise get bigger and bigger each and every time.
I get the feeling this game will try to "reinvent the wheel" if you will.
Retro tracks are likely too small for this new Mario Kart format anyway.
And I think one of the new gimmicks we be alternative track layouts.
Not like the city tracks in MK8D+BCP, where the track takes a different route each "Lap".
But more along the lines of Donut Plains 1, Donut Plains 2 & Donut Plains 3.
The exact same map, but a different layout.
Only this time, the maps are huge.
