Yes prefilling is an absolute must anywhere but especially in northern climates because of the winter months….some places ive had to prefill every single joint and angle with quick set as per instructed by the contractor . He was overboard in my opinion on that one . I was done after like 5 houses 😆
Your giving these hacks tips that they take and low ball jobs and do shitty work, claiming to be a "professional" and the ones like us have to suffer for it. Stop giving secrets and make them actually learn these things through experience!!
100%. Without a pre-fill might be able to pull off a finish that looks OK at first… but In a year or two will be a disaster for someone else to try to fix. In 45 yrs I’ve never done or seen a hang that did not require at least some pre-fill. Don’t tape and finish air or try to mud over broken board!!
