Postal problems: USPS customers in Houston area complain about missing mail

We’ve heard from people recently who are waiting for packages that include medicine and wedding invitations. Some say USPS claims the mail is stuck in Missouri City.

  1. many houses in our neighborhood did not get garbage pickup stickers and it's causing chaos with the trash sitting out on the curb collecting for the past week+ … three months were paid back at end of first week of August and the check was cashed, and now we are in the third week of September and other neighbors claim the same thing

  2. Thank the Trump appointed DeJoy! But Texass won't. They will say it's Biden's fault. But Biden can't even replace DeJoy because of laws the Republican MAGA Senate has made!!

  3. This has nothing to do with who they endorsed, but hey let’s stay ignorant lol. this has more to do with the hiring practices. They have been short for years so they changed some things up, like no drug tests which I heard they are bringing back. Hiring city carrier assistants certainly does not help with retention so when you go cheap you get what you pay for, not the people but the company itself. I take pride in my job and know every one I work with does as well. do not let a couple of bad apples destroy your view of the postal service. everybody is spreading conspiracies instead of telling what the real problem is, which is the starting pay, and current hiring practices. Nobody is going to sit around with a random schedule making under 20 dollars an hour when it could take years to be a regular, that’s after a CCA moves to be a PTF that’s city carrier assistant to a part time flex your hours are not guaranteed and you do not have a set schedule. Hopefully the new contract addresses all of these issues, other then that there needs to be some kind of buy out process to get some of the older carriers out so people can move up faster I have been to offices where it would take 10-15 years to become regular, there used to be no cap on cca’s now I think it’s two years, but then you move to PTF which you get benefits but you are not guaranteed hours. I hope they make some major adjustments this next contract or Im afraid it will never change.

  4. Houston isn't the only place with problems of mail theft. We have it here in Pavillion, wyo. I have had at least two checks missing. One for $14, 000. From my insurance Co. Which ended up sending the replacement certified mail to guarantee it would arrive. All my outgoing mail is sent through other towns to guaranteeing arrival
Accountability supervision is at Denver and is useless.. At Chrismas time missing incoming correspondence is at around 40 %.
