  1. So the structure, as Mr Leighton understood it, was that someone else should have known what was going on and should have done something about it, while he, himself, was only there to pick up his compensation, refrain from asking questions and make sure to be at the golf course on time? Nothing will happen to him, of course.

  2. Not one of these people seems capable of acknowledging that they are a part of a profound miscarriage of justice. They’re all oddly forgetful, technocrats without conscience, their answers are disingenuous, very keen to look like innocent, ignorant bystanders. Throw the f-ing book at these scumbags…

  3. Don't you love their constant refrain of 'duty to protect public money' as justification for their heinous acts??? Meanwhile, they are SPENDING outrageous sums of public money to conduct these prosecutors and defend their prior bad acts!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  4. The more evidence that I hear from this inquiry, the more I am convinced that there will be charges of a conspiracy to defaud. It was a concerted effort by Post Office executives and lawyers to withhold pertinent information from Board Members and the Government.

  5. Those costs (regarding prosecutions) should have been listed seperately in the accounting framwork for tracking purposes and that would not be uncommon in any businesses accounts. So I have no idea why this Chief of Staff would think otherwise. I wonder if the Sub-Postmasters are going to ask for another person to liaison with after Martin Edward's testimony?

  6. Martin Edwards you are lying. Set the hares running was saying to Vennels that the board will be going crazy once they learned about the Second Sight report and the fact that prosecutions wer wrongful, and you know very well that what you were advising was to keep that information from the Board. That is a conspiracy plain and simple and that is why you were lying to stop that impression being made.

  7. Martin Edwards seems to be a professional wriggler when asked challenging questions. I won't be surprised to see him involved in defending his own personal prosecution.
