This man is one of my favorite artists because for me, I see him as an artist, not a musician. He is a super talented musician because he is so good at feeling and using that feeling to create. I like his music because I relate to him so much and there are so many people out there that are the same. I relate to him because his music has grown with me too. I struggled with alcohol and addiction and partying and really just not caring and living life at 100 mph until I hit rock bottom and realized my life is going to last a lot longer than I thought. Addiction is so interesting. I can tell he obviously hurts a lot, and it's inspiring for someone to be so open and creative about their hurt and pain and difficulties. Because truly, it's okay to be exactly as your are – even if you struggle. Overcoming addiction is no joke and takes a lot of inner strength, and sometimes it takes rolling yourself down and out before you learn what you want to learn. I stopped drinking after my rock bottom, and I hope his future holds sobriety. It's a true gift to go to hell and back, even if it takes the rest of your life to come out.
