  1. "Rock Island, IL) — The woman convicted of endangering the life of a child after her son was found dead in her garage is out of prison.

Thirty-eight year-old Sushi Staples from Rock Island, Illinois was released on parole July 25th.

She was sentenced to two years in prison after she pleaded guilty to child endangerment in January.

Investigators found the body of her 10 year-old son Zion in a trash can in the family garage in July of last year, following an accidental shooting in December 2022.

Staples will remain on probation until January." Wow. . .

Who does this to their own flesh and blood?
Glad the officers persisted with a search. How dare she say she’s scared. That poor little boy Zion. RIP. I’m so sorry your mummy is so evil.

You just stuffed you dead son into a trash can and put it in your garage… You don't get to use that word… You should get cuffed to trailer hitch of the cop car and dragge.. I mean "driven" to the station that way… Gravel roads the whole way there.

  5. Court is about what you can prove not what you know. I know she’s an evil child murdering psycho but all that can be PROVED is she was in possession of her kids body and improperly disposed of said corpse.

They’ll get her for Zion. MMW. Her saga is not over.

  6. She kept asking to specifically call her lawyer and wasn't allowed to. That whole conversation with the police is worthless in court now. The cops screwed that up and that really makes me mad because depending on the reason for why the child is dead or how long the child was dead, the only crimes she committed were the false statement to the first officer to investigate and improper disposal of a corpse when she deserves to have the book thrown at her.

They needed to let her try calling her lawyer and get a voicemail, then ask her if she wanted to continue without a lawyer, she wanted to have on provided for her before she would speak with the police, or if she wanted to wait till she heard back from her lawyer before continuing the interview. She would have probably still continued the interview, so there wouldn't have been anything lost. Heck, it might have made her more forthcoming in the interview.

It would be highly unlikely that her lawyer would have answered the call or called back that day. Like, one in a million chance. Lawyers run on their own time unless you have paid them or it is easy work they can bill you for without effort from the comfort of their office. Taking a phone call outside of office hours they have set aside for checking email and phone messages each day isn't going to happen unless you have given them a massive retainer.

  7. Strange if you search children that shot themselves, it’s sadly quite a few, and when they put their poor child’s body in a trash can, you really would have to question did they really shoot themselves, or just not enough evidence to charge them with murder?!
