On Christmas Eve in 1992, an 18 year old woman named Danita Gullette stepped outside of her place of work into the freezing Dayton, Ohio night air and began walking toward her mother’s house. After a few minutes, Danita decided to call her mother to ask her something that couldn’t wait until she arrived. So Danita stopped at a payphone, slipped a few coins into the phone’s coin slot, then dialed the number she knew by heart. At her mother’s house the phone started to ring, but when Danita’s sister picked up the receiver, the phone was silent. Around the same time, the Dayton police received a call about a disturbance at a payphone in town. This would be the start of one of the most incomprehensible crime sprees in American history.

  10. Worthless ppl. I’m sad that people who are more than likely horrible & abusive parents are allowed to give birth. Abused & without proper care, you get psychopaths.
    It’s a broken system, abuse patterns passed down generationally.

  14. I'm not sorry for saying this but the best part of these stories is having to hear death sentences on the culprits…I know it doesn't bring the victims back but there's satisfaction in hearing that they get a bit of what they deserve

  21. The nice thing about getting older and having memory problems is that I can listen to these twice and it's just like the first time. I would think that since Laura was a minor that she'd have to have a parent present

  24. My mom lived in Dayton, Ohio when this was going on and was terrified when she found out that she actually knew some of the people that were killed and some of the people that were prosecuted. She was terrified to leave the house! She told me about this one day when I was old enough to know about true crime. It’s amazing that you’re covering this case! Thank you. It is something that still sticks with her around the holidays.

  26. I'm only 3 min in and all I cld thinks is it's Christmas eve why didn't anyone pick Danita up from work? and instead make her walk home in the could.

    I'm just thinking about all the family there and she had to walk home…unless Noone had a car

  27. I used to just want criminals to go ahead and 1)get the death sentence 2)have it done quickly so they dont waste tax payers money.

    I still feel that way but I’ve also learned to like the idea of them being behind bars the rest of their lives too. I hope that every day in their miserable lives that these soul less demons in human skin suffer. At night they think about what horrible things they’ve done and regret it and wish they’d never done it and wake up the next day to another day of torture. I like to imagine that. The way they could care less about these lives just baffles me. I hope they suffer greatly.
