PM lashes Coalition over Qantas illegal sacking of 1,700 workers

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has taken aim at the Coalition as he addressed Qantas’ illegal sacking of 1,700 workers.

He said the court’s ruling on the sackings were “backed up” by a submission the Labor government made.

“At the time I note that the Coalition said that was the right of the business to act and defended that action by Qantas,” the Prime Minister said during a media conference on Tuesday.

“Just as they didn’t have much to say way back when I was a minister when Qantas grounded its fleet.

“Qantas is an important Australian company – and there’s a lot of work to do to repair its reputation.”

  1. It’s very simple he says … it’s a body that has no power, just listens yada yada … so what is the bloody point of it then when bodies that do have power and billions of dollars of funding can’t achieve outcomes!?? It is utter lunacy. NO.

  2. So the voice won't be in involved in determining interest rates or help advise the head of defense for where military bases should be, or have a say in future taxes. Thanks for clearing that up, Im sure we no voters were worried about those things. What utter asinine nonsense. He couldn't come up with anything real lies obviously
