‘Plenty of people’ voting early as Queensland state election nears

Sky News host Paul Murray says there are “plenty of people” voting early as they cannot wait to get rid of the Queensland Labor government.

“All signs pointing in the right direction, but please, please remember where you put the major parties matter,” Mr Murray said.

“Plenty of people voting early, they cannot wait to get rid of this government.”

  1. Women need to vote to protect their rights. We have all the responsibility for our pregnancy but others exercise power over it. Men are equally involved in producing an unwanted pregnancy. When will they be held accountable for non-consensual impregnation? Unwanted pregnancy is only one consideration in abortion.

  2. I don't live in Queensland but having seen Queensland suffer under the Labor Government, I hope that Labor is crushed at the next election. Labor on both the State and Federal levels seems to be clueless and have also lost their moral compass. Their fixation on the voice to parliament and truth telling and treaties has become ridiculous. Their reluctance to stand their ground and do something about crime and the disgraceful behaviour sesn by the Pro Palestine protesters is pathetic. Albo has tarnished Labor's image beyond repair and this will be reflected on the State level.

  3. The ALP will never learn and have clearly created many problems. The government says it's proud of what they have done over the last 10 months but sadly, they're not listening to those front line workers when we see many workers departing such as police. The response time by Queensland Ambulance Service is blowing out but waiting 7 hours for a unit to attend is not acceptable. The person ended up having emergency surgery, the next morning. Premier Miles – current Health Minister has failed like the former one but the party really doesn't care re the pain that it is generating on the people across this country and the government (even in Canberra) needs to be kicked out. I appreciate the detail within the video update and we the people, need to say enough is enough. We all need "hope" but whilst there's much more that I could post, the ALP is all about controlling us. The number one issue is mass flooding of Australia by immigration that needs to be stopped. The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) is being flooded with cases on immigration.

  4. Devil's advocate here. Jails are really really expensive for taxpayers. If you want to lower crime give people something to live and work for. Affordable housing and good mental health services. This country is a shitshow where people are finding jail better than living in a car or a tent. Remember the game monopoly where the kids have anxiety about rolling to get out of jail because there's no houses they can own and prefer to stay in jail? Australia.

  5. I didn't even know Miles had a wife and kids until he decided to include them in his electioneering. He showed so little compassion and respect for families, wives killed, children assaulted, homes invaded and violated, that I could not understand that he could have any empathy for victims. He showed little, laughing at them. That is the great take away this man has left me with. It will not subside.

  6. I am voting early.
I was going to vote LNP, but they cannot answer me how they intend on getting around the UN's convention on the rights of the child. Specifically how their policy if 'adult crime adult time' vs article 37 – detention as a last resort and only for the least amount of time.
