The city of Anaheim published Disney’s Environmental Impact Report a couple days ago and in the process may have revealed some very important details about Disney’s plans for the Disneyland resort park expansion. Expectations can be set now for how many thrill rides, total attractions, and even…yes…some news on possible Monorail expansion and even maybe the People Mover? HOW? WHERE?!

REPEAT WATCH! I love looking at google maps as you describe things, but this time you have better! Love the ACRAGE, listed!
Has anyone noticed that the Inspire Key is now only available for renewal?
agree, will i be around by then? 55 today, so better start eating right and exercising!
DISNEY Corporate knew that those prices will come WAY DOWN!! Corparate Realestate is going to crash! We have a major depression coming our way and Disney must know it, they are just sitting backing and waiting to see 'how much' they can buy-up in the next 1 to 3 years!!
I’m so excited!!! Can’t even imagine it. I’m hoping most of this does happen..and hopeful for the city of Anaheim to approve it!
Avengers campus and galaxies edge r terrible just boring they need to do something with them
Great video David. And love the off the cuff, educated guess theories on what they could do with the new potential park
Just more opportunity for Disney to raise prices and continue screwing over the guests
i found something interesting about that picture of expansion compared to the more basic layout they had released before.
Note that the DTD west area is pretty much gone. They could basically be considering making downtown Disney smaller since they might add more retail in the toy story lot.
If they did that then the Disneyland hotel can be rebranded as a hotel within the park like the GCH.
It would also mean that they can possibly connect the two expansions creating an individual park that is 60 acre+ which would be bigger than the size of what DCA was when it opened.
Could this be their answer to expanding guest stay at the hotels by making a third park?
Would those bridges connecting them to the existing parks be for park hopper tickets only?
OOPS SHOULD have seen the whole video before saying this because you actually get into this idea
The ticketing things shouldn’t be a problem. They do it easily at universal with the harry potter lands.
If you paid for one park the tickets would just keep you in one area multi park would let you thru.
Even an additional monorail stop at DCA or GCH should also not be an issue. It is all about how to process the ticket scanning or monorail queuing
The monorail extension also sounds like they are revisiting older plans which had the monorail not extended but added so that it went from the proposed new shuttle drop off zone south along the east side of garden walk and down to the south east district.
They had also proposed a while back a monorail system that would eliminate the trams from the western parking structures and drop people off in the existing tram stop by world of Disney. Budget cuts stopped it which was a huge mistake.
The eastern gateway project never really died. I have been in touched with people that have been involved with it.
The main reasons for its delay was just because of less than a handful of business that were afraid to loose the morning breakfast crowds if people were rerouted. The hotels had already discussed different possibilities that would not have affected them.
The other main issue was because of a political image problem because of the bridge design.
The report actually discusses the eastern gateway information including possibilities of more open bridge designs
One of the best Segments, totally from the heart as always. Fans of freshbaked! Will always follow a genuine fan like yourself 😌
Peter pan is the last thing they need to add. I want other IP. A land of imagination or Mythology would suit multiple properties. Things that stand the test of time and can be made into fun experiences are what I want to see.
The end of this video reminded me, not that any of us needed it, why you are the king of Disney vloggers. Your authentic passion, joy, and excitement are always on display. Don't ever change that and we can't wait to follow you for the next 30 years!!
David, thank you for an informative vid!
My opinion would be adding more space and attractions to the 2 parks specially for California Adventure, no need for a 3rd small park.
Won't something need to be Pandora/Avatar since that has already been announced that it will be coming at some point?
What I really wish for is a way for Disney to lower their ticket prices. Their SoCla promotion price is great, until you realize that you have have to buy a 3 day pass which makes it no longer very affordable.
If a monorail is taking you from Disney to Toy Story parking lot, I would also assume that they would create a structure (2 or 3 floor building) parking lot.
If approved it would probably be decades before this is built 😢
Before anything happens, Disney's plan has to get approved and I just don't think that will be easy in this state under this governor. I'll be curious what happens ….
Do they have anything in there about shops and restaurants?
I have so many thoughts, you guys. I could discuss for hours. So many thoughts. At the forefront though, a couple things. I wholeheartedly agree we do not want a third gate. I remember as a passholder in 2001 when DCA opened, pass prices jumped up a whole bunch. Might have been almost double. I don't have the numbers off hand but pass prices already cost enough. I just want to enjoy what we have. Secondly, your remarks about small attractions is an interesting one. I agree that the small scale Disneyland attractions of Olde are fantastic and Fantasyland becomes more and more my favorite land as I get older, oddly. However, think about the smaller attractions built in the last 10 years. They are pretty much souped up off the shelf county fair rides with no real imagination. Sorry but with Disneyland's current financial crisis I really don't trust Disneyland to build anything worthwhile that is "small". Even Ariel's Undersea Adventure still feels oddly short / missing scenes at the end. I love the omimover aspect of it but if that's their recent attempt at a dark ride, I'm a little nervous about smaller rides. Obviously we could go ride by ride here and pick them apart and discuss what's successful and what's not in recent years, but my point is, I don't have much hope that any new Disneyland Forward rides will not basically be more Pixar Pier type lightly themed carnival rides.
But it's still a concept, and considering the financial issues Disney is having. Wont happen any time soon.
I’m sorry, did you just say 30 YEARS? 😳😩
Disneyland Park is spoiled I feel like this needs to be an expansion of DCA only not be an expansion to both or Disneyland or a 3rd gate as much as I love DCA there’s just not enough to do or see especially when that park has an identity crisis as big as that park does but whatever they decide to do I hope they do a really good job with this bc if they budget cut it’ll truly determine their future of success but I truly wish Disney with this amazing blue sky endeavor!!!
I’m with David- More smaller dark rides. I would love a Beauty and the Beast ride the same scope as Snow White, easy. It doesn’t have to be crazy extravagant. The little ones love those rides. They are perfect for younger families. Here’s hoping. 🤞🏼
Villain’s Kingdom?!
If Disney connects the lot behind splash with critter country zootopia could fit in quite nicely there. Pixar pier could also connect to a Toy Story land. Thoughts?
Disneyland doesnt need garages nor parking lots if they tesla ev fsd autonomous network the drive to disney.
IMAGINE RENTING TESLA EV's TO GO TO DISNEY PAID WITH YOUR TICKET.
IF DESANTIS WINS VS DISNEYWORLD, Desantis is sadistic HE WILL NEVER LET DISNEYWORLD EXPAND.
IF DISNEY IS TO EXPAND and INNOVATE, IT MUST EXPAND IN DISNEYLAND
only other choice is to create a entire new disney park in a state outside of florida.
Where did you hear that Disney didn't buy those hotels that you talked about at the end of the video? I read an article last week that says they did buy them and they are directly connected to Disney property. It was the Days Inn at the corner of Ball and Disneyland Dr. and another one right behind it that I can't remember the name of at the moment. Both are touching the parking lot next to the parking structure. Both hotels closed due to the pandemic and never reopened.
HAPPY!!! LOVE DISNEYLAND!!!!🎉🎉🎉
3yrs or 30yrs???
I wonder if it's more likely that the Thrill and Family rides will have an Outdoor and Indoor portion each, meaning those notations are for the same rides and they might only build 2-3 rides in each area. DisneyParks are not known for adding many rides to a new land, and "adding value" to the ticket price doesn't seem to be their primary motivation over more profit. Still, it's fun to imagine.
They'd be crazy not to do Frozen with a third movie coming out, but also the new area could be Coco and Encanto lands with connected theming between the two.
Disney is on the verge of bankruptcy and major layoffs so this must be a ploy to keep stock prices from plunging even further. They are also planning on selling ABC. Still its fun to dream and maybe they are looking past all the misery they are about to enter. Also this is election season and it looks like there will be another election illness with masks and shutdowns that could be a death nail for Disney parks.
I just hope a new area has the care of cars land or Star Wars galaxy’s edge and not marvel land. I find the latter to be a bunch of squared corner buildings that feels meh.
But what if this new land was Avatar/AK themed!?!? I know it's a stretch but you got me thinking with every corner of my brain.
Did he say 30 years to complete?? Geez I will probably be dead by then…
I just hope whatever Disneyland gets from this, we get a guardians cosmic rewind type of roller coaster. It’s long overdue the resort gets a new roller coaster. And they should go big and add something of that magnitude.
Do you ever wonder if they're just feeding us what we'd like to hear because things have been so dour with Disney lately? With a 30 year timeframe, they could come up with a million reasons why, in the future, it just didn't work out.
They probably didn't buy the land on Ball Rd b/c they were planning to move Disney offices to Fla.
Cmon guys. This is a water park.
Great content!
Great Video, love to see what might happen with Disneyland so elegantly presented!
I sure hope it’s a frozen land or something from an actual ‘successful’ movie 😮
Peter sighting at 19:34!
Didn't Disney tease that there would be an Avatar experience coming? I wonder if one of those grey areas on the map be a tree of life?
