planet Mars Discussion about the demise of a planet

Mars is known for its impressive volcanoes and mountain formations, such as Olympus Mons, the tallest volcano in the Solar System, standing about 22 kilometers high, nearly three times the height of Everest. Its base covers an area comparable to that of France, which continues to attract researchers’ attention. Meanwhile, on Earth, a theory suggests that a comet collision with a hot planet led to the formation of the Moon and rapid cooling of the crust, resulting in the formation of tectonic plates, oceans, and a single continent, which later split apart. Both geological phenomena demonstrate how catastrophic events can shape planetary landscapes, influencing geology even today.
