  1. A combo of nuclear and renewables will be the future. Where I live we get most of our energy from hydroelectric which keeps my home electric bill very low compared to other parts of the country

  2. I actually like the look of wind farms. There's one about 20-25 miles away, right on the border of the state, and once you get near it, it's just wind mills for miles. Hundreds of them. As far as you can see. Taller than anything else in the area. There's a surrealist aspect to me that I kinda like. I wouldn't mind living near them.

  3. the North American power grid is the single largest man made structure moving power between the supply and where it is used. it supplies both Canada and US but nuclear supplemented with renewables is the answer to future power supply

  4. the nuclear waste thing is commonly a misdirect used by renewable. most waste is clothing that can be washed the second is things that are easily destroyed to complete disposal. then the smallest is actual direct nuclear waste.

  5. Solar is the only one that’s completely recyclable. One day it’ll be all we ever need. We are NOT there yet, or even close to think about switching to electric alone forgetting about solar even.

  6. In my future, every house has its own reactor buried under the foundation. Have enough material to run the house for the next decade or so and then once every ten years you hire a guy to come safely change out the material.
Pipe dream of course but it's fun to think about.

  7. A aircraft Carrier and a nuclear submarine can go like 20 years without refueling.
Only coming to port to Change crew, restock supplies or weapons or for maintenance.

The nuclear reactor heats up sea water into steam while also being cooled by the water and spins a turbine

  8. Also the nuclear waste is not an issue it just needs to decay it does not need to go to space. Since imagine trying to accelerate lead into space and how much thrust you need to do that the issue back in the day and why we have so much waste is because we were synthesizing weapons grade material
