Welcome to my channel, Critical Reacts! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I’ve loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on youtube, which eventually turned in to a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I’ve evolved in to doing other things on youtube. For years now I’ve wanted to create a music channel on youtube, and recently just figured “why not?”, so its time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.

This is a reaction video used to educated and give my feedback on the song and Artists

  1. Animals is "hard". Roger's song writing can be that way and Animals is really all Roger. David's songs are much more melodic. You should look into David's solo works like "About Face ", "Division Bell " and "On an Island ".

  2. That "synthesizer" sound you're hearing on Pigs is actually Gilmour playing his guitar with a talk box. It outputs the guitar through a plastic tube that he puts in his mouth and "talks" into a mic.

  3. Roger does not and cannot call himself Pink Floyd. Pink Floyd the band never "fizzled" they just stopped touring. If they announced a tour tomorrow it would sell out every stadium in the country in minutes.
Pink Floyd has never played anything in concert from Animals since the 70s. Roger in a tour from about 5 or 6 years ago performed the entire thing, complete with a full mock-up of the album cover (that power station) that ran nearly the full length of the stadium. And the iconic the pig of course. Sounded quite good too.
No need to apologize for your ranking. Everyone has their best and least favorite album. How much you liked it outside Pink Floyd comparisons wasn't so clear.

  4. Il basso in SHEEP è suonato da David Gilmour NON da Waters 😁😎
    Adoro quel maestoso basso !
E quel finale festoso al ritmo della Tarantella 🇮🇹
È la traccia che preferisco di ANIMALS

  5. Just a quick comment, I read the term, 'PIngs on the Wing', is a British military aviation term, referring the the area in back each of the planes wings, where they could be attacked by other planes, using this 'blind spot'. So the pilots would always be aware of, 'Pigs on the Wing'.

  6. Your take on this album in general is so absolutely and ridiculously wrong on every conceivable it's actually hilarious how completely incorrect, off the mark, and onjectively insane your very uninformed opinion ultimately is. This is considered the QUINTESSENTIAL Pink Floyd album and is the album MOST indicative of their sound along with Wish You Were Here and The Wall. Also you seemed to be so closely married to the idea that this album was somehow a 1 to 1 retelling of Animal Farm rather than simply loosely inspired by it in the most general sense, that you even seemed to completely whiff nearly every concept of what every song even meant. This entire album review of yours, by the end, contains almost every single thing you said during it, to basically be the literal INVERSE of what is actually true or makes any sense. I have not seen a worse take on Pink Floyd since the Nostalgia Critic, Doug Walker, took his massively awful stab at their work.

  7. You can thank David Gilmour for playing the bass guitar in sheep!!; David's the one who's tearing into that base line on sheep because Rodger couldn't quite get it down right!!
When it comes to "Animals" I did not like it when it first came out near as much as I liked "Dark Side" and "Wish You Were Here"!! Animals may grow on you like it did me!! It jumps back and forth to "Dark Side" then "Animals" then" Meddle, then back to "Wish You Were Here" as to which my favorite Pink Floyd album is! Give it some time and I think animals May grow on you as well?!!

  8. Pink Floyds last tour was in the 90's which was the Pulse tour, Which is where the pulse concert comes from, Was also when they did the Division Bell album, Since then David was touring with a Rick Wright and did do some Floyd songs , Roger is the one who still plays stuff like this in his Roger Waters solo show. .. Roger and Dave really don't get one , Maybe react to a brief history of Pink Floyd on Youtube. Love the videos as always my goodman! Respect from the UK.

  9. A massive tip when listening to Pink Floyd for the first time…just listen to the song, don't bother with reading the lyrics, that distracts from the music, just tell us how the music makes you feel.

    Pausing is a complete no-no.

Pink Floyd's music is about flow, go with the flow at all times, that's the way Pink Floyd's music is best experienced.
Pausing takes you away from the flow and feel of the music…the way it was intended to be heard.

It's your reaction video and you can do as you please of course, but pausing upsets Pink Floyd fans who know how deep the rabbit hole goes, and all we want is for other people to experience the delights of the music, the way we know that it can.

Pink Floyd fans are one big family, we welcome new listeners with open arms, but the respect for the music comes first and foremost.

    Thanks for reacting anyway.

    Cheers.

  11. I remember standing in line at the record store with my scant $$ to buy this album the day it came out… I often post a version of this comment on Animals & Sheep in particular… Here's a deeper analysis than I think you will usually see on this. SHEEP: Everyone hears the grim tether of fate return as the 'drowning stone' motif from Dogs reappears in Sheep. But this is more than it appears. They drop the stone motif into the musical palette of Sheep where it ripples into an echo – referencing that earlier work from Meddle, and depicting that the fate of the sheep is tied to and echoes the fate of the dogs. Even further, the chaotic crash and fade at the end of each verse where the voice fades into synth is an adaptation of the motif that first appears in the later section of Saucerful of Secrets where there is a series of buildups – albeit instrumental – that end in chaotic crashes. It also depicts the wordless state of sheep animality where thoughts form no words and mute to null. This chaotic crash idea also occurs instrumentally in "On The Run" from DSOTM. Yes, the BASS rhythm comes from One of These Days. Here is another Floyd factoid… Although everyone hears the return of the Stone motif, almost no one hears the RETURN of the 'dog-whistle' from the instrumental section of Dogs [HOW APROPOS] It is not conjectured to say that the "Here Boy" motif is pivotal when it reappears (reworked before the recitation of the psalm) in the descending diminished chord two-note guitar riff. The point? Dog whistles are covert coercion by the oppressors and are not meant to be heard overtly. These are a few examples of the masterful simplicity and elegance of Pink Floyd's compositional techniques. They are unrivaled in the cohesion of their work.

  12. PIGS (Three Different Ones) music and lyrics composed by: Roger Waters

Meaning of Pigs (3 Different Ones)

The central song of Animals is not in the middle by pure chance but because it is about pigs: the center of power.

Pigs are the real powerful in Pink Floyd's Orwellian Animals Farm. They control the sheep and also the dogs; the latter favor them with their wicked actions but at the same time they must be afraid of them, because apparently pigs can see everything and do everything, even fly.
Pigs are the largest, those who have so much power in their hands that it is impossible to keep it all to themselves, for this reason they transfer it to the lower floors, to ensure, with this concession of prestige, their position on the throne possibly forever.

Pigs are corrupt and corrupt, they eat far more than their stomach can ask for. But behind their greatness they are fake (charade). Roger Waters, author of the Pigs text, uses this word to mean a staging, a farce. It is not to be confused with our term charade which instead identifies a puzzle game made of riddles. However, it could be that the meaning of charade is connected to the riddle.
Pig is always on stage, even when it shouldn't. His appearance is respectable and sometimes attractive, but under the mask he is dirty.
It is the largest wheel of the cart, well oiled by the mechanisms that set the machine of power in motion.
In the first verse, Waters does not get to be dangerously explicit (with lots of names) as in the other two, but the first pig probably takes in most of the men of power, the lobbies and those who move the puppets by placing themselves above everything, in every field.
The image of a pig eating with his head stuck in the bin and meanwhile orders the others to dig, so that they work for him and provide him with more food, gives a good idea of the character.

Pigs (3 Different Ones), unlike Dogs, is a more breezy, less claustrophobic song, which almost manages to find its own defense weapon in sarcasm. Each verse ends with "You're nearly a treat but you're really a cry" to underline how the narrow-mindedness of these individuals is so sad as to arouse laughter as a reaction, to exorcise everything with irony, as if it was a bad joke to laugh at, even though there is only to cry.

The second pig is the figure of the politician, even in general, but there is speculation about his true identity because Waters is believed to be targeting the not yet British Prime Minister Margareth Thatcher. In 1977, the Iron Lady was just preparing to lead the UK but was already a fixture in British politics.
The reference to the "old hag", English slang for "old witch" and to the "feel of the steel" suggest that she is above all the recipient of the second verse. Thatcher will become Prime Minister and the experience will mark Waters to the point of dedicating to her, in The Final Cut, another thought with a personalized dedication on The Fletcher Memorial Home.

The third verse … continue —>

  13. During the 70s when Pink Floyd toured, they typically played just the last album they released, including their 1977 "Animals" album, and no encores at most shows in that period. The albums from the 70s were all Concept albums.

In addition to thier iconic music, Pink Floyd has always been known for their elaborate live performances, like Giant Blow up Pigs floating floating above the audience, around the concert venue as the show was going on.

And Thirty-five foot tall blow up cartoon looking characters walking on the stage as giant puppets, once again while the cncert is going on. t

To open "The Wall Concert, a small plane comes flying from the back of the venue, sparking and on fire, flying over the audience, and crashing into the right side of the stage. This happened as the first song was ending.

Here's a short clip of Roger Waters performing the beginning of "The Wall" concert showing the plane crashing at the end of the very first song, it's only 25 seconds,…

  14. it is likely that the first one is Ronald Reagon, the second Margret Thatcher and the third the only one named is Mary Whitehouse. Roger lost the acrimonious court case to use the Pink Floyd name David, Richard and Nick toured as Pink Floyd after Roger left IE Pulse.

  16. I once felt much like you about this album, but it will grow on you if you give it a chance. It is one of my favorites now. It is different because it is an angry album in contrast to the mello, spacey and relaxing feeling their music usually provides. Actually, I think that is why it grew on me, because it was different, but still deep down there was still that Floyd sound, in music and lyrics.
