The Philippines is taking steps to ensure China does not dominate the South China Sea by building its first BrahMos anti-ship missile base aimed at the contested waters. Satellite imagery from Maxar Technologies appears to show the development of the base, which includes a high bay for maintenance and testing, as well as a separate shelter for missile storage.

Why are news like this even allowed to be aired, this is exposing Philippines strategic plans.
The Philippines shouldn't bought these missiles. It's hard to move, too big, and a sitting duck.
The Philippines should have bought a bunch of mobile Himars from the United States. Himars battery can be used in short range(186 miles),
the medium range like ATACM (350 miles)AND SUPER LONG RANGE PRSM (Precision strike missiles) that can reach China mainland 650 miles.
If the Philippines populate their islands facing the West Philippines sea, the Chinese cannot sail within the reach of these missiles.
Brahmos is a waste of money, it's fixed and carried by 18 wheeler for transport that will bogged down in the Philippines terrains.

Those who say the Phillipines should have bought ATACMs or PSBMs from the USA instead of BrahMos, here's the thing :
1) USA is phasing out ATACMs by giving it to Ukraine in the war, and replacing it with PSBMSs, so it will not produce any ATACMs in the future and soon run out of those.
2) USA doesn't have enough PSBMs for itself so its not going to give it to its allies until it has had its share, it'll take a couple of more years.
Conclusion : So, the Phillipines military did the right thing.
