Peter Cushing's Grave & Home – Famous Graves, Halloween Special

Join me as we visit the home and possibly the Grave of Peter Cushing, on this Halloween special dedicated to this Horror Icon. I take you on a walk around where Peter used to live and we visit his old house and a regular place that he frequented.

Peter Wilton Cushing OBE (26 May 1913 – 11 August 1994) was an English actor. His acting career spanned over six decades and included appearances in more than 100 films, as well as many television, stage, and radio roles. He achieved recognition in his home country for his leading performances in the Hammer Productions horror films from the 1950s to 1970s, while earning international prominence as Grand Moff Tarkin in Star Wars

  1. Hi everyone, thank you for all your lovely comments as always….. πŸ™
To the people that seem to be taking it personally and getting their knickers in a twist. I know his surname is Cushing, it’s my accent makes it sound like Cushion…. Please don’t lose sleep over it, it’s not the end of the world. πŸ™

  2. excellent video, thank you, it was nice to learn more about the great man. never been to Whitstable, it looks like a really charming place. I loved all of the Hammer movies he appeared in, & he was a class actor. one of his lesser known Hammer roles was in the 1961 film called cash on demand. he plays a tyrannical bank manager who gives his staff hell. it's a really good thriller with a well written script, & just so different to the roles that people usually associate with him. it's well worth a watch as it shows his versatility as an artist. thank you again

  4. There was a fantastic joke several years ago about if Whoopie Goldberg had married Peter Cushion she would have been known as Whoopie Cushion lol. But as we all know, his name was Cushing, not Cushion, although depending on regional accents, it can indeed sound like Cushion. However his name is pronounced, he was an incredible actor and I can vividly remember growing up in the late 60's and 70's being terrified while watching various Hammer films that would be shown on a Saturday evening. As I got older, I discovered that in reality he was nothing like the characters he played, but was actually an incredibly warm, funny and gentle man. He never gave a bad performance in anything that he was in and no matter how bad a film might have been, he always gave 100%. A true legend who is still sadly missed. Thanks very much for posting this video Paul because I've always been curious about where he actually lived in Whitstable and have often thought about going there. Such a shame that his home is in such a neglected state and I hope that someone will eventually restore it.

  5. No offence, but you pronounce "Cushing" very strangely! … It sounds like you're calling him "Cushion!" 🀣 …. What do you call a cushion? A Cushing?

EDIT: I see others have noticed it too? 🀣

ANOTHER EDIT: I was expecting to see Peter "Cushion's" grave.

I recently watched a documentary about the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster, and incredibly the programme makers selected Ben Fogle to narrate. The only problem was, he COULDN'T pronounce "Nuclear" (pronounced "New-clear"). He kept saying "New-killer!" It was really distracting! Drove me crazy! πŸ‘ŽπŸ€£

  8. At the Whitstable Musuem, there are some more of Peter Cushing's personal possessions.

The inside of the Peter Cushing pub is amazing – over the bar there is an enormous still of Peter Cushing from the film Frankenstein.

Peter Cushing was my favourite actor. Such a legend, and very much missed.
