Any idea where the original people mover vehicles are at? Or destroyed?
lol, this trick didn't work last time they tried to bring it back the lines were hours long…and people were still getting high/smoking on the ride, among other things. not sure how this version will be different. then again, with people pulling away from Disney these days, maybe at least the lines wouldn't be as bad.

I'm a WDW AP and we can definintely renew. We even have AP hotel discounts available directly through Disney until September and through Marriott at least until New Years. I'm thinking the Dineyland APs will be renewable.
A seating area, another low cost alternative to being actually creative. I'm bet they will replace it with some off the rack carnival ride with a Space Encanto theme and pretend it's the greatest new attraction.
it's been a long while since the people mover closed….but don't the tracks go through the the Carousel of Progress building…or was it just the Star Wars building……I recall you going through a building and at the time seeing the Adventure thru innerspace building which is now Star Wars.
I wish they’d run the PM around Tomorrowland and then hug Matterhorn by the subs and over the back of Fantasyland to Galaxies Edge for a drop off or loading station there. That’d be a better track than the original IMO.
Does anyone know if the people that renewed their annual Disneyland pass were given the option to upgrade to a higher level?
Am I the only one that is noticing that options for magic keys (while still listed as unavailable) has omitted the imagine key? The top 3 passes are listed but the base pass is not.
When I logged into my online portal it does not give me the option of renewing the passes for myself and my sons (which expire on sept 14) but it does have a button for renewing my daughters (which expires on a later date on sept 22). I have dream and my children all have imagine 🤔 definitely seems like a glitch and you’re probably right, something is in the works.
Don’t get too excited about people being on top of the Peoplemover. I saw several people up there 4 years ago and did a video on it. I was thinking back then that the are going to bring back the Peoplemover. I was hoping, but today it still just sits there.
Adding a gate tax would be a good thing–hopefully it would remind guests of just how overpriced Disneyland is right now, and discourage Disney from raising ticket prices.

my passes instead of “Magic Key” 🤔
If rumors of the return of the People Mover and the destruction of the carousel building are true, I would think it indicates that a new Tomorrowland is closer than people think. A shortened People Mover track initially sounds like a bad thing, but does it say something by no longer cruising over Autopia? We know that beneath Autopia is the dark portion of the submarines. Perhaps there are plans in the works for this area that a People Mover track might interfere with.
One of the benefits of the People Mover was having a chance to relax and rest your tired feet for a lengthy 15 minutes. Hopefully, if the rumors are true, a way will be found so that time is not too drastically reduced.
With a new fiscal year beginning in October(?) perhaps demolition of the carousel building was squeezed into next years budget which would cut the cost of a new Tomorrowland a bit – at least on paper.
I always wondered why, instead of trams, there was never a People Mover installed from the parking structure to the park entrances.
I know who the two cast members are. He’s my manager and the lady is one of our new managers and their from food and beverage so sorry to say them being up there has nothing to do with the people mover and I was there that same day he was just training her.
Do you know if the Honda/Staples Center or the Angels pay this "gate tax" you mentioned?
Obviously every other city in the US suffered some sort of financial crisis during covid as well.
I don't see how Disney (or as you mentioned, the guests) are responsible for covering that (and then some, as the tax would not "magically" disappear after the city was made whole again) deficit.
I don't recall the estimated figure that the Super Bowl generated for LA (Inglewood) last year, but the numbers were astronomical. As you know, the DLR does that for Anaheim on a daily basis… Seems a bit unfair to me… In any case, they can and probably will do this with no effect on guests assuming it were just 2% of a ticket price…

Replace America Sings building with TRON. Bring People Mover back and don't shorten the track! I'm a people and I want to be moved!!!
Disney can demolish the Carosel of Progress (sp?) building AROUND the People Mover with out destroying that section of track. That building has bad vibes and needs to disappear sooner or later, just imo.
How are you able to go once or twice a week with the reservation system?
Seating? Flop I rather have a stupid copy paste of maters and just use baymax or aliens version. If not yeah dirt or another big ride somehow.

If there is any truth to the rumor that Disney hasn’t paid city taxes in a long time due to their constant construction, then I say that Anaheim is due their just revenues. As for PeopleMover—oh yes, I hope it’s true! Keep the original track, though. I do NOT want the Carousel of Progress removed. Put a new show in it! There aren’t many quiet kids’ areas left in the park. A new would be a welcome respite for tired families everywhere.
They should actually extend The People Movers as a functional mode of transportation to another part of the park. Perhaps to a new depot near Toon Town.

Personally, I'd like to see a Carousel of Progress on both coasts. WDW can have 1900/1920/1940/1960, and Disneyland can have 1980/2000/2020/2040. Use "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" on one coast, and "The Best Time of Your Life" on the other coast.
They should have demolished that america sings building after that horrible accident Debbi Stone had there that unfortunately killed her in 1974! So sad!😢⚘

I asked about magic key renewal a few days ago at the information booth in DCA, and those people said they were instructed to tell passholders that we will not be able to renew our magic key passes. I was devisgtated. Hoping for the best tho…
If they actually had an imagination left they could have put so many different shows in that carousel theater.. but they don't they only buy other companies ideas aka star wars marvel and exploit those bought name brands..Disney has no actual talent for new ideas anymore after all the old imagineers retired … So sadly Disneyland will continue to decline … Heartbreaking to see how such a great place has been destroyed …

I bet legal is just reworking the terms and conditions for the Magic Keys right now to make them lawsuit proof. Once that is done they will open up renewals.

I miss the sky-line transportation buckets. Like they have at the zoo. But I can see more issues with that going wrong.
I think tbh they could imagineer an awesome ride where people are strapped in very securely (perhaps in twos or something) and it could be themed in so many ways. Even a fairies ride of sorts if not star wars related or something. I did think of Sofia the first flying horses and so many kids love that idea but I get why that would be a no go considering Dumbo and the Carosel.
The people who live IN Disney world property are much more intense as far as how often they do. Lol But of course that's a much much smaller minority whilst here in SoCal I think we are a majority of fans that attend Disney consistently tbh. Maybe not THE majority but closer to 1/4 or something vs the people who live at Disney World …. obviously not many people can afford that.
They need to keep mask mandates optional at this point. I think cast members AND guests have proven that at this point. They can't legally invade privacy in regards to being vaccinated. Keep the common sense disclaimers…if you have an immune problem and/or are scared of contracting a virus don't attend Disneyland. Common sense. Just like don't ride action rides with back and heart issues.
If you are fine risking that and want to wear a mask go ahead. If you don't want to wear a mask and want to enjoy the fresh air , breathing without fogging up glasses (or using nasty chemicals to keep them unfogged) then great! Go maskless.
It's worked there's plenty of evidence in this system. Most people braving the fresh air. Going backwards would be a major mistake.
