The reason, the only reason that we have not had hyperinflation yet is because as the world's reserve currency we can off shore a good chunk of our inflation. Right now everyone that can is moving into dollars as it is still the safest currency compared to the alternatives. That strong dollar is keeping prices down for us but is really pushing them up for the rest of the world.
