Here is a look into why. Penn Battle III failed and what the corrective action is to give this reel a 2nd Chance. I refer to these reels as tuition reels where the effort is the tuition you pay to learn.

Heyyyyy Dennis! Nice trouble shootin!! Please dont forget to order that missin rotor cap screw with the others! Stay well Sir!
Sorry,I forgot to ask you…what is the difference between a "sealed" bearin and a " shielded one please?? Thanks!
Nice Job Dennis. Good Thorough Work. One Mistake Makes A Costly Repair. User Error.
great video
👍
Dennis, very good diagnosis again. Enjoyed this video. With over 350 spinnings that I’ve serviced I’ve only had two bad problems with oscillation blocks and gears. Neither of those reels could be repaired because parts were not available. Oh, I got another Daiwa GS-9 today. I’ll send you some photos when I get it and after I clean and service it. — Chris
Amazing how Penn or now pure fishing can make great products but also terrible and/or cheaply made models.
I have reels by them , ranging from stock or modify squidders/ baja special senator to fantoms gen 2 star and lever drag.
My current favorite Penn reels are the fathom 15 and gs555 . Use the 15 for mostly live bait and sometimes 1/2-3oz lures. The gs555 is on a 8-9ft jigstick with 40lb mono line used to throw 3oz+ metal jigs or shallow water bottom fishing with squid bait.
