Reubens, the actor and comic best known for playing the character Pee-wee Herman on TV and in films, died of cancer at age 70, according to an announcement posted on his Facebook page.

There was imagination, there was fantasy, and the ability for all of us to travel back to our childhood again. Paul so skillfully transported us there!

There's some misconception about his arrest. It actually didn't end the show. He turned down CBS's offer to do a 6th season so he can do other things. The reruns were scheduled into 1992 but were pulled prematurely. RIP Pee-Wee
