UPDATE on Paxton the Prairie Dog while giving him antibiotics. 💉
He’s doing great. The vet said he’s healing perfectly! We’ll be taking him back to the vet Friday for cold laser treatment and a bandage change, and once a week until hes at a point where hes feeling much better ❤️🩹

Gabapentin is an Awesome medication it's used in humans too I've had to take it it deals with nerve damage and deals with pain it's a non-narcotic even though they consider it a controlled substance nowadays I went to pharmacology school and that is an awesome medication to give an animal my dog also they were thinking about giving it to her before she died she had arthritis you guys are taking great care of this animal my heart goes out to you you guys are in my prayers impact is also 2 it is a great thing you're doing For this little guy cause most people shy away from disability pets which they're not much different than those who are without disabilities it just all depends on the pet owner I hope God blesses you guys and I hope you have a great New Year's

You have a very calming voice. That's what animals in general respond so well to. I'm very glad you guys rescued him. He's a dear sweet boy. His story breaks my heart and I feel disgusted by his former owners lack of compassion and responsibility. It's heartwarming to see you care for him and know he has a forever home with you all.

Amputation must be uncomfortable and unbalanced walking on one leg, tiring. Hope it’s possible to get a prosthetic for comfort.

I am so glad to hear that Paxton is doing so well. Poor little guy has been through so much neglect, and pain by his previous owner. But that is all going to change now. He is in a forever loving home now. And with excellent care will recover fast, and become good friends with Poppy
