Paul Gilbert Says Prince Harry "Should Have Walked Away" From Suing The Mail On Sunday’s Publisher

Media lawyer Paul Gilbert says Prince Harry ‘should have walked away’ from suing The Mail on Sunday’s publisher.

The Duke of Sussex took Associated Newspapers Ltd (ANL) to the High Court over a 2022 article about a battle over his UK security arrangements.

Paul says “Tactically it was a bad move to make this application. It should only be made where it’s felt the defence had no prospect of succeeding.”

  1. Prince Harry has been paying for his own security since he left the UK. He has always said publicly that he would pay for his own security when he visits the UK. So the newspapers must have known his position about this issue. If they are reporting something other than this, they should sued!

  2. The woman's comments that Harris security has to be publicly paid is simply not true. Harry has always said that he was willing to pay his own security while visiting in the UK. These so-called Royal experts needs to stop lying!

  3. THERE ONCE WAS A PRINCE
WHO WAS 'DAFT AS A BRUSH'
    HE MET AND MARRIED ~~~
    AN ACTRESS WHO COULD
    HAVE MADE A GIGOLO BLUSH.
BUT ~~ HE WOULD NOT BE TOLD
    THOUGH HIS GRANDFATHER SAID
    ''YOU NEVER MARRY AN ACTRESS
YOU JUST TAKE THEM TO BED''.

  4. I find great difficulty in understanding Alex. I am hearing impaired and do use captions. Isn't linguistic comprehension a prerequisite for journalists or news readers? Could she, perhaps, make an effort to be better understood for hearing impaired?

  5. Meghan's tactic: She doesn't want to go back to the UK and Harry kinda does. She can delay it by telling Harry she won't go without ultra-security. He believes her, so this keeps him endlessly busy, fighting for something he can't win at. Meghan will be able to keep him distracted with this tactic over and over. She will keep thinking of other reasons she can't go back to the UK.

  6. The Judge I THINK is trying to tell Harry "Dear boy! You do not have a case", but, Dear Boy is so dense he cannot get it in his head and thinks because he is Prince Harry, he will win.
Afterall, it is clear to the Judge that Harry is attempting to mislead the court and has lied in court already (thus the judge's little talk to him about "misinformation"
Harry's gonna get a lesson about lying in court…..but, he is too dumb to even realize it.

  7. Its so rediculous all the security guys harry has trailing him like he's so so important. You dont even see that around Prince William or the King or Princess Catherine or Queen Camila. Delusions of grandure at its most obviouse??

  8. Poor King Charles, it is time for him to cut ties with Harry. No matter what KC does is never a good father in Harry's eyes. No son would bad mouth his own father to the whole world. Meghan has a stronghold on Harry, this couple needs to leave the RF alone, pls strip the Sussexes' title.

  9. The sad thing is, apart from this case with the Mail, the other four cases (defense) are paid for by the UK public. Additionally, what Harry is fighting for will cost the UK public more money i.e. security, payout, accommodation, etc

  10. Ridiculous case — but…. to be clear….the judge has not given an opinion on the positions of Harry and the Daily Mail. He just refused to agree that the Mail's defense was without merit. If Harry had any self awareness at all, he'd drop this nonsense.
