‘Pathetic!’ Royal expert reacts to Prince Harry & Meghan Markle hints to King | Palace Confidential
Any hopes that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex might have of joining the rest of the Royal Family at Sandringham for Christmas are ‘pathetic’, according to one royal expert.
Friends of Harry and Meghan told a Sunday newspaper last week that they ‘would not decline’ a festive invitation from the King, but the Daily Mail’s Diary Editor Richard Eden says that these sort of indirect hints are ‘no way to operate’.
‘This is pathetic isn’t it? This reminds me of the school disco, where if you weren’t brave enough to ask a girl to dance, you’d say “my mate fancies you”,’ he tells the new episode of royal chat show Palace Confidential.

The footage of the state visit was breath taking – it is so glamorous! Love seeing the gowns and tiaras on the royal ladies – so beautiful!! Cheers to Blackpink, but wouldn't it have been better to have BTS at the state visit? They were mentioned! I laughed at Richards summing up Meghan's appearance as "so undignified"! I have to agree, she is. Sophie is truly stunning and she really has seemed to grow in her role as her public duties have expanded. One of my favorite moments was when William introduced his Aunt Sophie! Love the show!

The State Visit of South Korea was so impressive. I’m glad we got to see some vault stunners too So glad you covered the Duchess of E today. She’s definitely been stepping up to the plate to support the King. I hope we see more of Prince Edward too. Maybe we need a chess clock for Sussex coverage. 30 seconds or less. What a wonderful woman Sophie is, she had a career even after marrying Edward and never looked for the limelight but always knew that she would take up Royal duties at some point. She has stepped up to this role fabulously, no wonder Queen Elizabeth valued her and not just as a working Royal but as a friend.

Wonderful program. May I mention how impressed I have been recently watching various videos of Prince Edward hosting historical toursbof English history. He exudes a natural flair for expressing a subject in an intelligent and engaging manner that could easily be stuffy and boring. I feel his preference to stay somewhat out of the limelight of the glare of the press is a sensible, personal choice. I admire his understated style and quiet dedication to his work at hand.
