As the 14th Anniversary Bundle approaches, it is looking more and more likely that the Parliament will be the Premium ship offering.
The Parliament did not have a great response upon its launch in 2021, so I want to take another look at it to see how it does in 2024.

If this is the "premium" ship in the 14th then instaNObuy. Unless there's another, more appealing ship. The other ships that are "probably" going to be in the 14th are pedestrian, to me; traits I have a ton, but an interesting console like the immolating phaser lance or the experimental power redirection (or the Excelsior II itself, I'm a HUGE fan of Excelsiors, have them all) I would probably purchase.
Federation are human elitists lol. Look at all the human style ships. No other race in the Federation has even a fleets worth.
Myself being in Rom/Reman, they have a good-sized fleet. Kdf fleet is more diverse than Feds. The Jem have a good size now. Borgs now have a good sized fleet.
STO needs to use their imagination and produce other solid ship designs for the other races.
I've always had mixed feeling on the Parliament class in STO. I really like the look of it, and being a huge Lower Decks fan, I do actually like the ship. But it's stats, for all the reasons that you said, are bad. Really bad. And they're made even worse by it being a lockbox ship. I'm actually working on setting up a Lower Decks themed character and the big hold up has been getting another Lower Decks ship, so getting the Parliament unlocked for my account would be pretty convenient for me. However, I'm not most players (and frankly, I'd prefer a California). If this is going to be the premium ship in the 14th Anniversary bundle, I hope Cryptic is prepared to add another one like they did last year because I doubt most player will be thrilled about the Parliament class.

Power: +15 Weapons, +15 Engines (or 20/10 if going full meta)
Turn rate, Inertia, Impulse, Hull mod and Shield mod could all be made comparable to (but maybe not quite as good as) the Legendary Avenger. (fairly unlikely as well)
And if going all out, give it a different mastery package (like Destroyer or Battlecruiser), but that's super unlikely.

I like the sound of that trait, but like anyone who has been collecting traits for a while, I've not got room for it. New Starship Traits worthy of considering need to be exceptional these days. I think half-decent ones are more suited to newer players that will likely see a worthwhile benefit.
As for this ship being part of the bundle; it's not guaranteed. If this turns out to be the star of the show I can't say I'm particularly impressed. To even consider this upcoming bundle I would need to see two amazing Starship traits and/or Consoles to consider this bundle. Just one guarantees I'll just buy the single ship. I've still got a shopping list of bundles/Mudd bundles to acquire, that have some extremely worthwhile traits/consoles/ships before considering an expensive bundle with only one useful item.
I love this ship, I love the way it looks and I love Lower Decks. I do not want it in a bundle though, because if I own it I will want to fly it and I don't have enough META traits and gear to make this ship worth flying lol. That BOFF layout is terrible. I'm still working on my second Isomag console, its gonna be a whiiiiile before I can even use them in a build because I refuse to buy zen to convert to Dil, so I'm doing it the slow and painful way.

Meh, I got plenty of T6 coupons in my account bank in case one or two of the new ships appeal to me. If this is gonna be the only premium ship in the 14th anniversary bundle, I'll definitely skip it. But I fully expect them to add another one.

is it shittier then… i dunno… these old ships that came in packs of three with tac, sci or eng focus? Like the "command cruisers"? "Concorde" is the name of the eng focused version of that. Lt. Tac seat. But at least there's a lt.cmdr universal seat i suppose.
No miracle worker though, you'll have to make do with command. So maybe a tank? Torp boat?
Ship is fine for the casual advanced tfo player, breezes through advanced content.
I want this so badly as the premium ship. This way, instead of hosing all my Zen, I can just buy some of the decent T6 ships that come with it from my little pile of T6 tokens … Alternatively, I want the Mirror Warship or something else that all 11 of my characters can benefit from. Let's go Cryptic … all or nothing!
Cheyenne is one of them and it has Saucer seperation.
For the list of ships that includes CMD and the kobali what about something like the Hur'Q hive dreadnought carrier which from what I can tell has the highest base hull across all ships.

I have absolutely zero interest in the parliament. Ill definitely skip this bundle if it's the premium ship. I have 4 T6 coupons, so I'll get any of the good ships that fit my play style out of the bundle. Even the California is not something that would interest me at all.

Wonder if what happened last anniversary influenced someone to repeat the same thing. Sure the negative reaction that follows isn't great but the act of "hearing the gamebase" and offering an additional premium ship probably ensures that the bundle sells more than expected

I mean, the Parliament class in LD is a pretty mediocre ship for Starfleet standards, a second line workhorse without much prestige. So one could say, Cryptic merely stayed true to the spirit of the canon in making this a rather underwhelming ship.
One option, if they’re looking to save work on the 14th bundle, would be to make the Parliament into a C-store ship as part of the bundle, and then add a different Lockbox ship (maybe the Cali?) as the actual Bundle Exclusive.

I still think they do this on purpose, to drum up false outrage just to earn “we’re listening to you” points to gain more sales on something they were going to do in the first place. Cryptic has used the “BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE” tactic before last year’s underwhelming bundle.

It's so sad that it isn't so great. It's just so, so pretty.
There are those of us (me) that can do good in normal and advanced, but know if we were to take our build into an Elite Que, would just get our head on a platter when it comes to clearing NPC's. So that basically leaves the ISO mags, out of reach, unless I have missed something.
As bundles go, I never have bought a one of them yet, to much $$ being ask for my budget.
The Parliament just isn't desirable enough for me to buy the whole bundle. In fact, for me it's terrible, and I even though it is likely to be the premium ship in this bundle, I am really hoping that it isn't!
I have quite a few T6 tokens, so I will probably just pick the Cstore ships and call it a day. Depends on the other fluff they add.

I'd be so disappointed to get the payment as the "Cherry" ship for the bundle. Not just because I have one but because it's just… Not a great ship to incentive the anniversary bundle. I'd love something like the world razor more even though it's not my favorite ship because i think it would just be a better business choice
Spencer I love ya big man, but its tough for me to write off any ship as "bad" because it doesnt have a meta BOFF seating. Theres always ways to make something work well or something that is fun. Granted, we both know your viewer base is mainly dps chasers, so from that angle sure maybe its not the big fish out there. But to slap a meta build on a ship then call it "bad" when it underperforms at a specific thing is disingenuous. The vast majority of people dont want lockbox ships for the ship, its for a specific trait or console. And most casual players dont even bother with lockbox ships other than if its something they really like the looks of, or for a museum. It would be like me slapping a bunch of isomags on a 3/3 sci and then getting mad when the ship doesnt outperform a 5/3 on beam builds. That being said, a great breakdown of the ship itself. Cheers!
Nicely balanced video , I will probably still get the bundle, if you fly around Space Dock. You don't see a lot of tarran Strike Wing Escorts, Styx, Mirror Crossfields or other promo ships. The 13th anniversary tarran Crossfields is my daily driver and that's the one people were disappointed about at that time. And at the time I was more excited about the four other ships that came in the bundle.

If the parliament is the promo ship in the bundle… i have x5 t6 ship tokens waiting for other ships that may catch my eye in the bundle that can be bought separately. For the 13th bundles, i only got the 4 ships that could be bought separately as i already have the legendary disco, and the Styx's just doesn't appeal to me at all. It's just ugly, which totally makes the "best tank platform in the game" a hard pass.
The Sagan class, or mirror warship connie, would make the bundle worth it in my book. I've had my eye on the Sagan since it was released. I have a mirror connie on an alt toon, and it is definitely fun to fly.
