Bitter sweet. After being in the discord and seeing some interaction with I believe the community manager, I am under the impression that if it doesn’t get release by the end of the year, it will be early 2023, like Jan/feb. take that with a grain of salt doe
You always see that one interessting game, but stuff happens and you do have to go trough a bunch of less interessting /annoying events before the game finally arrives.
Not sure how big my interesst really was, but I start to get annoyed by all the early announcements and several delays. Long story, always like when a game is going to be released during the holidays, it usually waited till you could got trough a bunch of school stuff again.
It may sound weird, but it just means i was kinda excited and I still have to get a monster taming game, where I feel like I don't want to stop playing.
I guess Nexomon or Coromon could be fun, but after TemTem and Monster Crown i wanted to avoid them for now. I mean with Coromon the demo got boring for some reason that I'm not sure about anymore. Monster Sanctuary started weak but got better.
Then there are games like Digimon or Dragon Quest that seems like they could be pretty fine, but I never was a "I have to get every game" kinda fan of those game series.
Meh, kinda have a bad day and didn't needed these news. However by tomorrow it will be just another delay tomorrow.
Oh i agree with what you said about the tba.
It’s unfortunate but it’s the best decision for the game. I like you Ed would much rather buy the game as a complete experience at launch instead of later, also this is a good thing for Palworld considering it launching this late in the year means it’d likely be overshadowed by Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
Why I get the feeling that this game end up like atlas. Anyone remember that disature of a game? I have.
Alles sehr schön. Aber zuerst zusammen die Nummern 10 und 1. Eine sleepfriendd.Online Brünette und eine andereu Blondine. Es wäre unfair, wenn ich 4 wählen würde
The wordings feel oddly like excuses. Devs delaying their game is a common occurence in the gaming landscape. Dunno, would have made more sense to me if they simply said "we delayed the game back a bit since we need more time, sorry about that.", or some such.
There is SO much they have to work on before it comes out: the most important one the AI of the pals, then comes the depth of every other survival aspect (i.e how your actions affect the pals you catch/grow/train, let's say you want to go the hero route, instead of live sniper shells you can use darts like assassin's creed and send the wild pals to sleep before catching them, then you can create reasons to doing so and get rewarded in different ways, let's say you go with sleep darts, then you get more ''friendship'' or ''bond'', meaning your pal will be more prone to be a peaceful friend to you, making him better tuned for manual/productive work, like harvesting, farming, electricity and so on, if you want to go the evil route you can make it more prone to battle since the first experience it has of you is violence).
Then you can create a way so that people in villages far away call requests for electric pals to power up their electricity and to not run out of it, rewarding you with repeatable cycling tasks (since just like in real life you need to pay a bill every month, you need a pal to power your village every now and then), then you can probably even change the harvesting/farming, making some food that comes from friendlier/more productive pals have more ''nutrients'' and have some pals have more initial productivity and others have more ''growing'' productivity with a separate level based on how much farming/harvesting they do and raise that stat for them, creating a reason for tamers to choose specific pals/catch them safely to get an initial pal with bad growing productivity but good base productivity to prevent you from running out of food or money in the early game, then you can make the productivity make some fruits/vegetables sell for more and make your pals more healthy (giving them special traits like +productivity or +speed, +flight speed) and so on if you give them ''rare'' fruit you harvest.
There are HUNDREDS of ideas that people can come up with if they get to talk to one of the devs for a few days that would make the game more complete and giving it ACTUAL REAL longetivity instead of FAKE, Repetitive, Annoying, Boring, Forced Longevity like some mmos do that force you to do daily/weekly tasks to ''progress'', that's no longer a choice the player makes, it's the devs that force the few player left to get bored and not enjoy the game like they want to just to boost up money and players online.
I personally would rather have them release an early access with a price tag similar to Temtem by mid 2023 and have them add cosmetics/skins/character customization packs so that people like me who want to support a more developed and complete game can do that through those means, not by creating inconveniences like egg hatching limits to then sell you the p2w solution.
We have to remember as monster taming players and as open world/survival gamers that these types of games can have a lot more potential than turn based fighting, ''2D'' mon like games but they also have DRASTICALLY higher standards to be met in order for them to be deemed ''okay'' or ''decent''. Look at No Man's Sky, that game came out with amazing, insane potential and then was a flop at launch. but with years of development it started getting better and better, they had the time, the resources and didn't want to turn the game into a grab the cash and run, they actually wanted a good game but had a very very bad start. If more time and money is needed for Palworld's devs I'm not just happy to wait, I wish they spend that time to collect ideas from fans/supporters in the coming years to make the game have a life of its own, who wouldn't like having a survival+monster taming experience, that's the best of both worlds, if even a game as basic as minecraft could do it, imagine something that was born with that idea in mind. It's a very high risk high reward genre and it can either be a massive success or a massive flop at launch based on how much they customize EVERY single aspect of the game and give it depth/meaning, every time you choose every action to be evil/good to the time you interact with any npc/pal. (just like the hunting example, having sleep darts instead of only ONE type of shell would mean you can add 2-3-4 more mechanics to add depth and Meaning to the choices and paths you take, meaning the you can really tell the difference between the evil/good route and not just affect some silly one time thing story line).
I can't wait for it to come out, but I also unfortunately am starting with a very high standard in mind, I usually buy games with the idea that I should have fun for tens of hours and be happy if the work they have done is good but with this game and these devs, with the amount of potential and the risk they took by taking on such a high risk high reward genre, I can even accept it being a flop at launch, but one thing I wish and hope is that just like No Man's Sky's devs they will keep developing the game and add more and more features, I am ready to support the game with reviews, ideas, criticism, money and time, the only thing I ask from them is time, work and passion. Wish them the best, glad they delayed it to 2023, hopefully to mid 2023.
That means more time to make a better game! I'm ok with a delay for Palworld to turn out the best.
