Palm-sized drones help police deal with terror threats

The police are deploying a fleet of palm-sized Unmanned Aerial Vehicles as β€œscouts” to help them deal with armed criminals during riots or terror attacks. These drones are part of authorities’ efforts to use technology in dealing with emerging threats in Singapore. For the first time, the police show CNA in detail how these eyes in the sky can keep the public and officers safe. Aslam Shah takes a look.

  1. Pritiam Singh also raised questions on the government’s handling of potentially embarrassing issues, accusing it of being β€œslow to clear the air” or β€œless than upfront” with Singaporeans.

  2. Huh.

    I had a similar idea.

Modified dragonfly drones and create spider like drones with ability to hop/fly to cover huge distances.

Allocate them enough sensor power to locate things like tripwires, laser beams and other dangers.

Get them preprogrammed so they can scan and map an entire building/compound within seconds.

If you know where all the targets and risks are, that reduces danger factor for soldiers and police.

Just use like a 50 cal to take out all the threats through the walls and windows. πŸ˜‚

P.S. for those who are extremely stupid or braindamaged. You need crawler units to get through door gaps, around barricades and other small gaps.

And its defensive measure. While it can be misused I dont really care.

  3. What's important singapore had changed to a multi-nation country (multi-nation-singapore) so even with the saf soldiers and police also no use, it's the pap party mistakes and there's no way to u-turn back.

  5. How about requiring any building to submit the building layout in soft copy or computer copy for emergency usage of the Department of Public Safety or Security Purposes?

Then, during emergency cases like these, the police or safety or security forces can have an immediate navigation of the location to use for solving public safety issues.

    Or is it already regulated?

  6. US Police have been using portable drones for years. Their are not palm-sized but larger and equipped with powerful lights and thermal imaging to handle night time situation.
So, you want to consider that as "technology" or "copy"?
