A military rescue in Pakistan is under way for six children and two adults trapped in a cable car over a ravine in the country’s north-west.

The group were on their way to school when one of the cables snapped, leaving it dangling 274m (900 ft) above ground, officials said.

Pakistan’s acting prime minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar has ordered rescuers to attend to the “alarming” incident in Battagram.

Helicopters have reached the car but the rescue’s status is unclear.

The Western world, along with large institutions such as the World Bank, have consistently provided financial support to corrupt organizations, politicians, institutions, and military forces in Pakistan, rather than directing aid to the intended beneficiaries. As a result, funds intended for foreign aid and loans have been misappropriated by these corrupt entities, including corrupt stakeholders in Pakistan, rather than being used for the betterment of the nation. This failure to act with integrity has resulted in a situation where appropriate measures for children’s travel have not been established. It is important for these institutions to reflect on their actions and acknowledge their role in perpetuating this cycle of corruption.

  20. Update: Mission Ended very Happily succeeding in saving the 7 children and one teacher. Lets appreciate the fact that the teacher was so high in the sky about to touch death but let everyone go before him. Truly a W Parent who would have a mature son who does the same as him

  22. What makes cable car snap ? Is it because of negligence of government's maintenance or who owns cable car company ? Please investigate this tragedy, it's a blessing that all of the victims rescue , imagine if there's another incident after this event… 😐🙏
