If they are plastic and not silicone, the crank protectors are a game changer. I Put them on my new crank sets last year and they are still mint even though my pedals are trashed. Well worth the 10 bucks
Why change anything?
How about putting a Bafang mid-drive motor on it? Build an urban assault ebike. That's what I did with a Mongoose Excursion. But, I'm looking to trade the frame out for something with a tapered head tube. The Ozark is one of the frames on my short list.
I have the small and I've got the microshift Advent x 10 speed waiting to put on getting powder coat done first
Trail One components is the company of Brian Kennedy, the friend of Alex The Singletrack Sampler and Seth from Berm Peak. Damn, I gotta get me a pair of those purple grips. Purple is my favorite color too, Jeremiah.
I would sit with the Wolfman to listen to his vinyl collection and sip on Flor de Cana Aniversario.
Built one of these up for my wife,
Tektro Auriga brakes (old)
Rock Shox Judy TK 100ml boost through axle $200
WTB I30 boost wheel $90
Microshift Apex rear deraileur (new but on hand)
6 bolt center lock adapter $15
Orange Fat Paw grips $20
Its a stunner with the orange and getting the lighter front end with a working fork was a huge improvement.
Yeah the T series made it, I replaced an A12 with the T series version as it has the clutch. For tyres I'd look at the WTB range, something like the Trail Boss 2.4 & 2.6 decent enduro style tyre but not silly money. For the fork, how about trying something different? have a look at the RST range… maybe the F1rst model?
Maybe trying a 2 degree slacker headset cup with a 120 fork with a 34mm stantion. This wouldn’t raise your stack too much but it would open the bike up for being more capable in a wider variety of terrain, not to mention improve handling quite a bit, along with those tires.
SCHWALBE ALBERT RADIAL TIRES
Why not just ride it?
The "pugh" returns
Manitou Makhor 100mm fork, PNW Dropper, Tektro M275 breaks, any Schwable non tubless mtb tires with TPU tubes, WTB Wheels and an 11 speed Shimano Deore. Some Race Face Chester pedals and 50mm rised bars
I have one, Mine is the M2 I guess its got the cassette rear 11-42 microshift advent shifter, microshift acolyte derailler, I upgraded the fork to Bucklos air fork, zoom hydraulic brakes , saddle and grips just for appearance, truvativ stem, IXF crank , Bucklos bars with 50 mm rise, been a sweet bike.
Rockshox Judy silver 100mm for the front fork, ergon GDH team grips.
I have medium, new hydraulic brakes ,(Tektro), 203mm brake rotors, Praxis cranks 30 tooth ,with Shimano 24mm BB, shorter aluminium stem, Carbon Bars, Shimano Deore 1X10, Hydraulic dropper post, thumb lever on bars, Velo titanium rail seat, Rox Shox Silver 100mm travel air fork, Lock on grips, XT Shimano clipless pedles, 1 set stock wheels converted to tubeless, 2nd set of wheels with more aggressive tires, also tubeless. 203mm rotors. Deore 10speed rear derailer. Now it is at least ridable. Before while stock straight up "Junk". 😅😅😅
365cycles has a rockshox Judy silver in 9mm qr for $185
BMX bars
Shortest stem possible to help any reach issues on the bigger frame. Maybe handlebars with a bit of a rise and sweep to shorten the feel of the bike even more.
Unrelated… Finally decided to get my ears fixed and had bilateral otoplasty done yesterday. Pain is finally starting to subside, if you ever decide to get it done expect a 6-7/10 pain for the first 24 hours or so. Slept on massage table that has a hole for your face so I could sleep face down and still breathe. Had to get it done, started to lose my hearing and was get headaches from the pressure and fullness I was experiencing about 80% of my waking life not to mention the ringing in my ears at all times. Wont be wearing anything other then button up shirts "pants as well lol" and no work or lifting for a month. I'm hoping it was worth it.
I need a video on the Ozone 500 Gira Mottolino, please.
We can tell the older guy who doesn't even ride is pissing the other guy off
