Oxygen Not Included – Down the Hatch! (Part 5)

A LOT has changed in Oxygen Not Included since I last played! Fundamental mechanics have changed, new resources are waiting to be exploited, and space travel is now a reality! We’re diving back into this shattered world with the hopes that we can bring safety and prosperity to our small dupe colony. Wish me luck… I’ll need it!

  1. 0:45 it is possible it is "adding" caloric value because cooking it makes more calories actually available to easily digest. after all a similar process occurs when cooking meat

  3. Hello Pravus I wanted to tell you if you would try my scenario please. It's called "Memes to the attack"
This is an incomplete version I wanted you to try it so you can give your opinion about the scenario so that I can do my best.

  4. Love your vids, and this series has been great, just like the rest! Couple tips that might help you:
    1) Hatches only have 1 or 2 eggs in their life while wild. Until you domesticate your ranches by brushing them, you aren't gonna get many eggs.
    2) Watch out for that natural gas when you start using it – it comes out at like 150, so you'll probably need iron or steel to use it..
    3) to clean your infected and polluted water (like from the bathrooms), the easiest way is to put it in a water container in a chlorine filled room. It's gotta be a container – it doesn't work on pipes. Keep the water in chlorine for at least a day, and it should kill all the germs. You'll probaly need some automation to ensure that all the water has been in for at least a day though. There are lots of designs online.

  5. Since your Polluted Water tank is adjacent to several polluted water pools in surrounded biomes. It may make sense to double the Polluted water tanks size. Should be simple enough to expand it outwards to the right.

  6. God, I love this series. One of your best ones, if I may say so. Please hurry up and upload the next one 😉.
No, but seriously, you Pravus, with your Engineering skills make this look so effortlessly (with your foresight) that I remain in awe watching you progress, even if you encounter some sort of struggle (at times) with little problems, whereas when I play this game, I wonder how to survive the first few cycles. Much respect and admiration from this part of the Earth. I admire Americans who are able to measure in Liters, kilometers and kilos supposed to whatever backward unit system others are still clinging on to (no offense). For that alone you get a thumbs up 👍 and this has always been one of the best series on your Channel!

  7. One good use for polluted water is using bridges from the toilet line to overflow into a reed fiber plant. Basically just replace the liquid vent with a reed fiber plant, then dupes can keep that growing slowly to generate reed fibers. Cleaning the water with the sieve doesn't remove the germs, you need a chlorine room for that, so just getting rid of the germy toilet water using reed fiber plants is my preferred way. By the time you need reed fibers, you usually have quite a few stored up.
