  1. Skill should be rewarded so Heroes like Reaper, Torb, Sym Junk, hog, Moira should be underpowered and heroes like tracer, genji, hanzo and hitscan should be more meta.

Make heroes feel more uniek again, they all start to blend together imo, just like roles. And while I don’t endorse double shield or something, the did take variety out of play styles and strategies, they all kinda feel the same now

We need more heroes and maps. Also 2CP can be fixed with spawn editing and some minor tweaks. Push has some competitive objective flaws to tweak and needs to be longer.

Sombra needs a better rework. Orisa is actually underpowered at the highest level and Support can be the most impactful… if the team peels. We do need more heroes.

  2. I l miss tank synergy and feeling of being the shield, but encouraging activity over passivity is good. I do miss the structure, layers of pre fight, early fight, mid fight etc. Maybe they can find ways to make slower comps at least a bit valid without reintroducing shields and stuns, would also be more fun to watch in owl. I do feel like individual roles, comps, heroes and such feel less uniek, and there is less variety in play. Like swapping used to make vast changes in strategy, play styles and sub objectives in a fight. I don’t encourage double shields or comps like that, it was horrible. But by making slow comps and many strategies obsolete you do delete another potential ways you could have played the game. Which, like it or not, deletes a lot of diversity. Which has to be made up for in other ways imo or the game becomes bland.

Personally I liked the fps RPG hybrid concept that made overwatch uniek but of course turning it back into a more generic FPS gets more fans and is easier to understand for new players. Or course the game lost a lot of depth and the knowledge floor to play the game has lowered drastically. It does feel more 1 dimensional given that, teamwork, strategizing, structure, job understanding, ult economy, compositional understanding, understanding your relationship with your team etc is so much less important in most elo’s of the game. They can again try to readd this in other ways.

I can also prove it too with 1 simple question: in what game is value easier recognized and distinguished. That’s the game with less depth. Yes it’s ow2 and it’s not

You can bring a lot of this back in a different form. So instead of stuns you get more uniek utilities or debuffs and ability interactions. Maybe different ways of dmg like DOT. See in this way you can make heroes and roles uniek again without reintroducing shields and CC.
