Our First Visit to Efteling, and Wow, It Was Windy!
Efteling, a fantasy-themed amusement park in the Netherlands, opened in 1952, blending ancient myths, fairy tales, and folklore. With 36 attractions, including six roller coasters and four dark rides, it’s one of the world’s oldest and largest theme parks. The success is attributed to Anton Pieck’s design principles and later Ton van de Ven’s contributions. Efteling attracts over 5 million visitors annually and, in 2020, became Europe’s most visited theme park. Its evolution, expansions, and diverse divisions, such as hotels and a golf course, contribute to its popularity, offering a unique blend of fantasy and nature.
