Our second stop on the Disney Wish 4 day itinerary is Castaway Cay…Disney’s very own private island! We have heard such amazing things about this place so we were ready to do it all! We had a full day here with photo ops, shopping, snorkeling, water slides, delicious food and all-you-can-eat ice cream!
My first tip is to book your cabin on the starboard side of the ship so that when you dock you’ll have an AMAZING view of the island out your window or verandah when you wake up. This place truly looks like a post card! When we got off the ship we were greeted with cast members that gave us towels. We also had an opportunity to grab a soft sided cooler with bottled water (which we bought for around $30). With it being our first time we just said yes to everything LOL. On our walk to the beach we stopped for a couple pics with Donald and Daisy! We also saw Mickey and Minnie but the line was so long that we decided to try and come back later (sadly we missed our chance to do that). After a bathroom break we did a quick walk through of the (She Sells Seashells) gift shop to see if there was anything we HAD to have before it was gone. It was a REALLY hot day we were eager to get in the water. Tim grabbed his snorkeling gear that he rented for around $35, suited up and went on an adventure in the lagoon to find some sunken treasures! I’m so glad he did this…the footage was incredible! After that we went over to the slides…Story was excited to go down but after her first ride she decided it wasn’t for her…but she was brave for trying! We decided to do some relaxing before heading over to the lunch buffet. We ate a little bit later than most and a lot of the food was sparse. It was good though and I’m glad I could find a veggie burger! We got one more banana soft serve ice cream cone and headed towards the tram. Before boarding we stopped into the other gift shop and found Tims favorite shirt in his size. He was pretty excited to find that. So, the lesson is if you don’t see what you want at one of the gift shops be sure to check the other one! With our bags and bellies full and our skin sun kissed we grabbed a specialty frozen drink in a souvenir Olaf cup and hopped aboard the island tram to head back to the Wish. Before we got back on the ship there were more cast members there to greet us with refreshing COLD towels and infused ice water (lemon, cucumber, mint)…they really do think of it all! We had such a wonderful day on the island and can’t WAIT to come back! Maybe some day we will get luck enough to snag a cabana…if only! Thanks for watching!
