This song left us without words and in our own memories. If you live long enough you will outlive your closest friends. This was a beautiful tribute to her friend and a wonderful gift to the parents of the friend she lost.
I did my best attempt to edit this so Nerdmuma wouldn’t have to cry again today re-listening.. I left a job and went back to college when I found out I had lost a dear friend. They found her car abandoned at the Golden Gate bridge. I wanted to become a counselor of some sort, hoping to just save one person from themselves the way she had done for me. I met Nerdmuma because of the choice to go back to school. I still clearly remember the day she received her phone call of loss when all I could do was hold her through it. The temporary state of life is part of what makes it so beautiful.
keep grinding,

beautiful song and response from you both

Brave choice. When you know the background this is a hard song to listen to!
I have been lucky enough to see Aurora twice now in the UK Birmingham O2 institute and Birmingham Town Hall she is a fantastic performer always plays with your emotions with her innocent charm and extraordinary Talent. No doubt you will be wanting to see her perform live yourselves when she is back in the UK. ☺
She made this song for a private funeral in Feb 2014 for a friend from school and probably from her class. The only reason we know about it is because the girls mother made an open FB post in Jan 2017 on the 3rd commemoration day remembering her daughter with a video full of clips of her with Aurora's song playing. That FB post is still open and available.
The mother wrote this about the song (translated from Norwegian): "It is such a lovely song. It is beautifully written and at the same time so infinitely sad."
And then she quotes Aurora: "It is important that the song can be cried to. That it is reminiscent of grief at the same time that it can relieve a little. This song is Ida's song. And it always will be. I only had her in mind when I sang it, and I think a little part of her is in it if you listen extra carefully."
The video you watched was made my an Aurora fan and added to the audio of the song from FB. The video clips are from different small documentaries about Aurora and has nothing to do with the song, but I think he chose very well, and they fit the very sad and somber mood of the song somehow enhancing it.
It is very heartbreaking song. I think it is even more touching without video, with only Aurora staying back to camera and looking somewhere far. And this song was made just for that moment and initially it has to be only one time on her friend funeral.
Thank you guys for reacting to this Aurora song. I had not heard it before. You are the ones I would want to share listening to it with.
This song made me company when my mom passed away Aurora is so freaking unique
Beautiful song and tribute to her friend. Gets me every time.
Think when you drive, be smart, and ONLY drive; don't text, don't check your Facebook or anything else. AND drive after the conditions of the road!
Fact: the parents of the girl held a "safe driving" meeting for school youth telling their story.
You need a happy song now: check out Queendom video!
Good evening! You make such nice reactions. Aurora has made a couple of songs that are almost unbearable to listen to too often. Her voice has a sadness and rawness that penetrates my soul inexorably and the crying is unstoppable. As I said, there are a few songs and most of them are unreleased. another similar song is Animal soul which is one of her best in my opinion. Hope you don't have to wait so long until the next Aurora reaction
I can rarely listen to this song without reflecting on her astonishing inner strength to perform this tribute, when most can barely speak when there is this much grief. Not only a beautiful eulogy to her friend but I am sure it has brought comfort to anyone who has suffered loss.
What an absolutely beautiful tribute to her friend from such a beautiful person, Aurora. Could feel every bit of her pain singing this wonderful song. Hang in their guys their are a couple Norwegian artists that can do this to you…..Absolute True Artists, can't say there are very many but Norway has a couple. Cheers, stay well and each day can be better than the last. Music heals the heart and soul, keep playing and listening and keep grinding.
22.7.2011 – The mass murders in Norway, where a Nazi sympathizer killed a total of 69 people and injured 66 others. One of those killed was a very good friend of Aurora, in memory of her friend Aurora at age 15 wrote the song 'Little boy in the grass¨. An incredibly beautiful song! https://youtu.be/1kiV704Nd_I
I love this song so much. It´s so sad. Thanks for the courage to react to it.
I love your reaction after the song played. But I could only listen to this song once.
This song makes me cry everytime I hear it. It is a beautiful song, such a touching song. Glad you experienced/reacted to it, thank you
Thank you for that. Aurora wrote it for and dedicated it to her friend and it has not been played sinse. That song could make a career. She is a healer. Enough said.
This sing is heartbreaking… Imagine the parents when Aurora sang this. It must have meant so much. Thank you.
SO glad you're back to Aurora! I'm happy for the Angelina fans that you're also doing her…I've just never been able to get into her stuff tho. Oh well. I love your Aurora reactions. Something cozy about you two watching her…
I've still got my fingers crossed that you'll do the big two Aurora live videos: "Lucky" @ Nidarosdomen & "It Happened Quiet" @ The Current. Those two are just….stunning.
If you two thought this was sad…..you might want to hold off on watching the "Sofia" video for a bit….
It's SO terribly sad. Another song….written(by Aurora and Iris and Askjell who are all friends and collaborators) that is mourning the death of a single person, in this case a very young girl who dreamed of being a famous artist one day. It'll leave you as a puddle. Aurora is SO good at using her musical talent for…..healing pain.
Always tough to watch this one. I appreciate the connection with your own losses, and how it hit you, but for me it makes my heart break for Aurora. There is just so much emotion and sadness in her voice. And those lyrics. I would have been a basket case at that funeral, even if I didn't know the person being laid to rest.
❤
Deep emotional song,,,she is from the same place i live bro Grauph.
