  1. The table connects with the sideboard, and the rug gives it an English feeling, but the chairs maintain the French element. I never like it when dining chairs match a table, and the dining room just gets better as it gets more eclectic.

Looks great on you Stephanie! 👌
Too bad the table disappointed at first, but you need the extra space and you’ll be happy with it for a long time, I think. I really like the color too.
I feel sorry for Amaury for having to fix it all at once, leaving his other work behind, but on the other hand… he is the one who CAN do it and it’s just part of your (and many other’s) life to adjust to what’s happening, right? 🤷‍♀️
Thank you so much for all the joy! 🫶💞🫶

  3. Sorry Philipp no hard feelings but when I see the new table I think of the German saying "Ein Griff ins Klo" which translates to „a grasp into the toilet“ and is an informal way of describing a decision that turned out poor. I like the wonderful country style table a lot better and think that you will never be able to use the new, huge table without hiding it with a huge cloth. Shit happens. I am sure one day you will find a wonderful table that suits the room perfectly with Stephanie in France!

  4. I am not an expert but I suspect that table will need two more sets of legs towards the middle, to keep it from sagging. My family used to have a very, very long antique table and its built-in legs were more evenly spaced.

  5. I am sorry the table was a bit of a disappointment; it can be salvaged. It is impressive how much talent you have with you, especially Aumaury!
I worry the carpet under the table might make sliding chairs in and out more difficult?

  6. The table is gorgeous – I love it in that room: the colour, the shine, the size. It makes the room look chateau grand. Don't hide behind scruffy stuff – MDF is not fit for a chateau table. I love the chateau to look chateau-like. With Amaury's bit of fettling, the table is a triumph. Well done Phillip!
