In this episode of Gardening with Dave, Dave shares his organic approach to dealing with Polly Pollies, a common garden pest that can wreak havoc on seedlings. Instead of using chemical pesticides, Dave uses food scraps like oranges, plants, cucumbers, limes, and cauliflower stems to keep these pests at bay. Follow along as Dave demonstrates how to apply this effective, eco-friendly solution in your own garden.

And it's already starting to rot so it's easier for them.
Nope. Not that simple. Distracting the critters by feeding them away from your fruit/vegetables may seem to work at first, but when you feed them they reproduce and will keep reproducing and eventually they will need to seek food elsewhere because your scraps are insufficient for the explosion of population, and then they will find your fruit and veggies. Best solution is to find a natural predator – sometimes ladybugs or some other insects or spiders, etc.
I have used this in my garden and have seen great results. I can distract them long enough for my plants to get strong enough that they can’t eat the stems.
why feed them so they multiply how manny times can you actually do that untill you have to kill them
