President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Tony Blair have issued an ultimatum to Saddam Hussein, leave the country in 48 hours or face an invasion. Before the ultimatum expires, British, American and Australian Special Forces move in to Iraq.
For context on the invasion, please watch Iraq War 2003 Explained â Why Bush and Blair Attacked Iraq on The Intel Report at https://youtu.be/Ns5mNDct-bI

Ive been waiting for this one
Sucks that Henry Kissinger can't enjoy this series đđđ
WHOPPER JR. !!!!
Great video!!!!! This is the first of these videos where I was actually participating in the campaign. I was Navigator on the USS BATAAN (LHD 5) at the time, and I remember having the Officer of the Deck wake me when the TOMAHAWK missile strikes began. We stood on BATAAN's bridgewing and saw…absolutely nothing. Turns out, we were too far south to see the missiles launch. We later acted as "CV 5" along with our sister ship, the late BONHOMME RICHARD, by conducting Close Air Support sorties with our two squadrons of embarked AV-8s (VMFA 223 and 542) supporting I MEF on its drive north.
Interesting to note, the hunt for WMDs came up later. Saddam was in violation of the terms of the cease fire from the 1st Gulf war which was to allow U.N. Weapons inspectors into the facilities where the supposed WMDs would have been generated or stored.
Invaded a country that surrendered and the point of collapse well done mate your so tough
My father was on one of the carriers during the invasion and for 3 nights they would check the ordinance and load them onto the aircraft only to be told to stand down every night and had to take them all off and repeat it again until the 4th night when the skipper told them to launch and watched them head for Bagdad, his squadron was the first to hit the city
Actually, the reasons for this invasion were real but we gave Iraq 6 months notice we were coming in……and didnt monitor the borders of the country….all WMD's were removed well in advance of any invasion
Brilliant as always
Next time you say you're going to keep politics out of it, then try keeping politics out of it. Just get to the damn meat of the video. Nobody is here for a debate on who was in the right or in the wrong. We come here to see the action.
AhâŚ. I was there for year two. Green body armor with tan BDUs, M16A2s instead of A4s, burn-out toilets made of 55 gallon drums, and random sheet metal welded to our Hemmits and Humvees. âYou go to war with the army you have, not the war you wish you had.â
1st Reconnaissance Battalion ?? make me remember the Generation Kill series.. đ
Awesome as always. Thanks guys.
The decision to minimise troop numbers by Rumsfeld was such a huge mistake. You can't hold and secure areas without mass.
hundreds of millions of $$$ of ordnance fired at a single target….
"Despite the 99.9% certainty, Dora Farms had not been used since 1995"
xd
That premature attack prior to any declaration of war or warning? War crime much?
FUCK AMERICA , FUCK NATO !
FUCK AMERICA , FUCK NATO !
Men and women? Gtfoh đ
Should be renamed "Operation War Crime"
I remember watching this from the Embassy in Kabul, being wicked butthurt for missing it
Will you do the beginning of the invasion of ukraine that would be very interesting
âShall we say, less than soundâ. Political commentary like that, and your obvious disdain for Bush, just undermine your credibility regarding the logistics of what youâre reporting on. There were so many more factors involved in the decision than just WMDs. If youâre going to open the issues of policy and strategy then do so fairly and completely. Donât hide behind the supposed objectivity of simple tactical reporting to voice your rather ill-informed and shallow policy opinions.
âOn paper, the Iraqi Army was still a formidable force.â
Unfortunately for them the war was on a battlefield.
So basically, both the CIA and SAS failed here?
Because the British and USA are layers and this war was a crime. They wonât the war thatâs why they lie about irak. so real crime countryâs.
23:34
When Recon still saw combat.
Can you do the second battle of Fallujah ? The quality of your content is superb.
Spontaneous flooding at 22:30?
The general saying, "bitchin dude bitchin" is hilarious to me
And it was all based on a lie don't forget and never forgive, no wmds were ever found. Just like operation desert Storm was started on a lie that Kuwaiti babies were being massacred by Iraqis and yet it was found the person who made that statement was the daughter of a Kuwaiti politician and later recanted what she said.
It is worth Noting that US Ambassador Glaspie told Saddam Hussein that the U.S. would not interfere in Arab affairs if Iraq was to solve the situation Militarily where Kuwait was drilling into Iraqi territory to steal oil, which it was then dumping on the market and drive prices down, which was crippling the Iraqi economy.
2:15 nice to have that statement. You could just have said that the US blatantly lied to have a cause for war in the middle east.
Trombley sound like the typical Marine. Never miss a chance to get some shut eye. "wake me when the shooting starts"
There's a great book about the invasion called Cobra II
Good video! Didnt got what is the "T" Word tho. Would be cool if i get more hints
Love the Generation Kill reference!
I just need to correct a small point, the Australian air force contingent consisted of FA-18 Hornets, upgraded with Australian electronics packages from the original F-18, NOT F/A-18 Super Hornets, which were an American upgrade. Yes, the designations are confusing, but the capabilities of the two aircraft are somewhat different.
16:34 if this was an episode of StrickBack they would have easily taken them all !
Same background music again.
Of All the clothing on the planet, OBL chooses American forest camo field jacket. But uses the archival bad guy gun the AK47. Ya, we haven't noticed the militarized creep of usury bank into those that frown upon it…
Was there in 07
hard to believe time flies
Thank you for mentioning 1st recon. Generation kill is one of the most accurate Mini series and books to a deployment.
