Today’s Tutorial Information:
▶ Technique: Open Cup
▶ Pouring Medium formula: My paints are mixed with a pouring medium and water. I use good quality paints that have a good binder. My pouring medium is Owatrol Floetrol. I use a ration of 1:3:1 – paint: pouring medium: water. You may have to adjust your ratios depending on the paint brands you use.
▶ Color Palette:
Amsyerdam: Titanium white
Winsor & Newton: Cobalt Blue
Pebeo: Iridescent Gold, Blue Turquoise, Light Ultramarine
▶ Hair dryer: When I use a hair dryer I use the Remington D3010 and always use the cool setting and the lowest blow speed.

I do love it just the way it is; however, I saw some koi fish stencils on Etsy and thought a couple of them or any type of sea life, done in silver leaf, maybe down in the corner, would be gorgeous. But to reiterate, I do love it just as it is now – sometimes less is more. It is a beautiful piece! Denise 🦈🐟🦭💙
Hi Mark.
It's 1.30am here in Oz & I'v had a really bad time healthwise, spent a lot of the day in the emergency department of my local hospital.
Now back home & not able to get to sleep, so started looking at YouTube & found this latest clip of yours.
Listening to your soothing voice & watching this piece come together, has left me feeling far less stressed than I was & so very relaxed I'm sure I will be asleep in no time.
This creation has left me homesick. I used to live in the Pilbara region, the far north of Western Australia.
I was lucky enough to be taken on a helicopter flight over the area & remember looking down at the ocean 🌊 & seeing some sand islands. These appear on a low, low tide.
This painting is so much like those views i can even smell the ocean again.
I love this piece exactly as it is & personally, wouldn't change a thing. It's so perfect ✔️ as it is.
Thanks again for sharing your talent with your fans. ❤
Love it Mark! A sea life stencil of a sea turtle or a koi fish would make it pop more! Love from NB Canada!
I'd leave it. It's got a topographical map vibe that's nice. See how it looks at a distance. You could always stencil it later on if its not working for you.
So soft and pretty but yes it does need something
Like fish swimming
Hi Mark. I wouldnt touch this one. But maybe try some gold or silver leaf for a tad bit of embellishment if you decide to do it. See how that would add a little more pop to the painting.
I love it but it would look lovely embellished ❤
Hi, @Mark! Iwould embelish it! On camera the composition looks a bit common. Some contrast is needed, for sure <3
How about looking down on sharks rays or dolphins.
Ocean scene to me and I think some fish could be added. The gold corner looks like sea grass/weed ❤
It's gorgeous. I love it. I definitely get a beach vibe from this.
This is a lovely piece. I'm not sure about embellishments, show me what you've got! 😊
Hi Mark, I really like this piece! I would emphasize the part where the gold shines through so beautifully with additional gold accents. Maybe with glue and gold leaves? I just did a painting like that (spiral) and I really like it! 🙂 It gives it that special touch of shine and elegance… But your basic painting already says a lot! ❤️👍🏻❤
Oh I love your open cup pour. I see the ocean and love the depths of the blues. Maybe a little silver or gold to bring the lines into focus creating even more depth? I love it as it is though. Beautiful! Great job my friend 👏❤
Magnifique ❤
It's very beautiful the way it is. Not sure what kind of embellishments u would do to it. But it's always fun watching u create no matter what. Great job !
Nice technique ❤❤❤❤❤
HELLO Mark!! 🥰 I love the ocean piece. I'm surprise to the result with the open cup. The design are sooo beautiful. 💙💙💙
One question for you. Why you don't have many cells when you do this technic?
I love this piece but je suis curieuse de voir ce que tu vas faire comme embellissement. Si tu demandes, je crois que c'est parce que tu as envie d'essayer quelque chose avec cette toile. Go for it!!! 😜❤
Je te souhaites des belles journées jusqu'au prochain tuto. 🌈⛱️
Merci Mark tu as réussis à calmer une partie de mon angoisse avec ce video. 🤗🌸🌺🌸🌺🦋
Beautiful, love the ocean vibe.
I love this. I’ve seen where artists add color on the lines to make it stand out more. With pens. Like more gold lines and dark blue. But it’s good how it is.
Lovely painting, perhaps some embellishment would be nice
This is so beautiful Mark!!! Looks like a shallow spot in the ocean. And it isn't missing anything, but if you feel like embellishing it, maybe you want to add two or three small sea turtles?
I also liked the design after you wrecked the big golden puddle. Looked like a flower. It was fun to watch you like always and BTW, your relaxing music is great
🖒💖
This is beautiful just as it is now. I love the colors and I agree, it looks like the ocean. I don't think you need to do anything to it🥰
I love the sea vibe as it is, but let's see your embellishment!
Maybe you are missing the white that we are used to seeing in seafoam I think that is what your eye is looking for let me know what you think
Love it as it is
Its beautiful, id personally would add half a mandala coming from the darker corner..in gold with faint splashes of the lighter blue.. but its difficult as its your work and not mine, all our paintings are our unique thoughts❤
Leave as is. Beautiful.❤
I see an ocean. What about a stencil, sea creature 😊
Very neat outcome, maybe small sea life stencils!?
Beautiful painting! I adore the ocean/water colors!!! Not sure about embellishing. I love sea turtles so that would be my first thought to put on top…as stencil or some version of another pour.
Hello Mark.
Again beautiful colors. After varnishing will this paintig be gorgeous. I can imagine how the gold shines and the blues pops up ❤.
I see a landscape where the river meets the see😂.
There are sand islands, riverheads, meanders, sea holes with the dark blue color, the sea and the spaces where the water and sand changes the color to the turkois…
I am missing absolutly nothing.
It is perfect exactly as it is.
Don' t change it 😉.
❤️😍🇩🇰
As soon as you finished it, I thought "well, that's a beautiful background". So, yes, embellish it
Mmmm, love the ocean feels!! Perhaps a sea turtle or a mermaid swimming on her back?
Definitely getting beach vibes from this painting. Its beautiful! I would love to see you embellish it.
