All those videos seem fake in my eyes. If that was actual AI, then it's in Uncanny Valley. However, that screams "Voice Actor" based off how quick and borderline energetic the voice sounded.
As for "ended Humanity", no. If real, it'll just continue the trend of dumbing down Americans to try and make us more complacent sheep.
Open AI isn't conscious and won't be. LLM's are nothing more than a metaphorical "mirror" that's reflecting what humans look like back to us. They're just a parlor trick, and are nothing more "real" than The Mechanical Turk automaton was.
Last year, I interviewed at one of the Big Five/FAANG/whatever initialism they're using now that there's six or seven of them to be a dev for their then up-and-coming AI product, which I clearly thought to myself was gonna become Skynet. I made it to the final round of the interview process, but got tripped up at a question about a particular data structure I've never encountered professionally nor academically in my almost 20 years of professional development experience that somehow they expected me to solve in 45 minutes. Supposedly of the four interviews I had that round my performance was split down the middle, two positive and two negative, and that would've likely been the tiebreaker.
After seeing the public performance of that particular AI, I don't know whether I should be thankful I'm not on that team or regretful.
It's honestly kind of sad that people think this is new technology. Many people forget that by the time the public sees a technology that it's likely decades old for governments and militaries
