You can try Magma Opus if you want to speed up a bit, it makes a treasure for 2 mana but it costs 8, so you won't interfere with your combo. I think you are making it too "defensive" with all the removal, Layline should be enough, Carno can change to Magma's and maybe something else that ramps?
43:50 Rewind, Force of Will, Dismiss, all 4+ counters that would be decent. Then you have cards like Gush that have alternate costs to play and still do stuff and cost more than 3.

I feel like if you cut the ball lightnings and groundbreakers, and put in cards like Phlage and Lovestruck Beast, the deck might actually do something.
The one ring is so fucking stupid
Another card you could play is phlage, it has 5 or more power. More staying power and gives you a way to last a couple more turns.
Couldn't you use evoke elementals like grief? I mean it's something g to so with lwylines and gets you a thoughtseize.

This deck is a flavor vortext but Balls Vortex might be an objectively funnier name for it.
The wizard cast testicular torsion on the opponent. It was lethal.
Fog would completely counter this deck.
So happy you attacked before combat (52:22) so the Vortext could resolve.
Btw the normal domain creature gameplan works alongside monstrous vortex. Kavu + Brawler are both 5 power creatures upon cast (with full domain). I’ve looked at phlage + kroxa along with this gameplan. It kinda works
If you're looking for more counterspells to run, you could go with Odds//Ends. Odds is essentially 2 mana Invert Polarity for instants and sorceries
Deck is great flavor too, a storm of elementals breaking forth from a vortex, pretty dope
The monstrous vorTEXT is what happens when you text while drunk.
You can also name this deck “3 Big Balls”
