Ontario's ‘rapidly expanding’ nuclear capacity to ‘meet and exceed’ emissions targets

Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says Ontario in Canada is “rapidly expanding” its nuclear capacity to create business investment and to “meet and exceed its emission targets”.

Mr Greenwood said nuclear energy will be a significant point of difference between the Labor government and the Coalition in the next election.

The Coalition has pushed for the Albanese government to lift the ban on nuclear energy.

“Labor’s Climate Change and Energy Minister Chirs Bowen says nuclear is too expensive and will take too long to develop, compared with renewable energy,” Mr Greenwood said.

Mr Greenwood was joined by Ontario Energy Minister Todd Smith to discuss how Australia can look to Canada in the nuclear debate.

  1. Socialist Labor Albanese Bowen both firmly have their collective heads up the Backsides of Renewables Billionaires and the Main Supplier China .. to quote an Old Labor Slogan from the Seventies Election campaign "Its Time" Change the Albanese Communist Government.. here is the estimate of Renewables not including existing and future planned Hydro, Firstly what is the Price for the Total Destruction of the Australian Natural Environment ?
consider the Land mass area required for the Following 4000 wind turbines $15 Trillion Dollars .. 65 Million Solar Panels $ 21 Trillion Dollars .. 28,000 Kms of Transmission Lines $ 2.5 Trillion Dollars ..getting close to $ 50 Trillion Dollars . then there's the Battery Storage these Climate change promoters attest as the best thing since sliced bread .. well AGL spent $ 180 Million Dollars Sth Australia for 1 Hour .. pathetic when the power went out in Victoria for close to 6 hours .. these clowns also blamed it all on Coal being offline well really lay the blame squarely upon Labor Governments Anti Fossil fuels Policies Greens Labor Climate Zealots and Owner running down company assets and forcing the removal of Fossil Fuels by promoting and subsidizing Limited Continuity of Supply renewables .. this is what you reap after sowing Fossil Fuels hatred .. so does anyone think that renewables are Strategically or Economically Viable ? .. seems to Me Nuclear is the only Solution to this non existent Problem

  2. We have NO Productivity. Most Companies are Leaving or Have left. This will be better than High Bills and having Cheaper POWER And the FUEL To put in it. Chris Bowens ideas are useless. If too windy they Turn them off and we have to STILL PAY for it.

  3. "In any system of energy, Control is what consumes energy the most.

No energy store holds enough energy to extract an amount of energy equal to the total energy it stores.

No system of energy can deliver sum useful energy in excess of the total energy put into constructing it.

This universal truth applies to all systems.

Energy, like time, flows from past to future" (2017).

  4. See how the pictures of ontario power stations show two power stations next to the sea to get cooling water. But too cold to swim in Canada while we swim everywhere and would not like to swim near a nuclear power station.

  5. Australia is not Canada, in Australia we already have a huge nuclear power plant known as the sun that can be used to generate all the electrical power we will ever need. Here in Western Australia the solar panels on the roof of my house generate five times more electricity than we use in the house. Plus, we plan to have a sodium battery installed to store much of that energy for use at night, meaning that our use of electricity will then be virtually free. The Canadians can kill themselves with radiation leaks if they want to, but Australia does not need nuclear power stations, and never will. Tomorrow belongs to me.

  6. Meanwhile, in Australia, the moron politicians are still playing with their Lego, the knowledge of secondary school students exceeds the entire government which is now an embarrassment beyond belief. They’re so woke you wouldn’t belief it.

  7. The carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuels are largely beneficial. Benefits include greening of the planet with increased agricultural yields (main effect) reduced winter heating costs, fewer deaths from hypothermia and postponement of the next glacial maximum. This is especially so in cold areas such as Canada.
We should withdraw from the Paris Accord, repeal the renewable energy targets legislation and use the most economical energy resources available. We should also legalise nuclear power plants.

  8. Excellent interview.
    All true too.
Australia needs to dump far left Socialist Albanese and vote for Fundamentalist Peter Dutton in 25

Renewables are not real, absolute marketing spin.

  9. There you go. Even with a lunatic in charge, woke Canada can stand up modular nuclear reactors in 6 ish years and see's the benefit of doing so. Comment, Mr Bowen??

  10. I am going to say this about Casanova Bowen, either he is totally lying about Nuclear, in how long it will take to get it up and running and the cost of it, or he is a total idiot. Perhaps he is waving his hands under the table.

All he is doing is misleading the people of Australia.
