  3. They are ink blotters. We had to use fountain pens in school and they blotted up the extra ink so it didn't smear the paper. Boy, I remember using them all the time in grade school. By the time I got to high school, we were all writing with Bic pens.

  18. I am thinking that the ledger is from a time before ball point pens and they might have usef those papers to cover the fresh ink so that it wouldn't bleed on the page beside it… I prefer doing my accounting with ink pens over
    ball point and put a paper on the page to protect my work and the next page

    I live in Portugal and I sometimes find very old books in the drift store but not ledger books 😢. I have to go on the hunt for vintage german books. Here we actually find books in nearly every single language. I'm looking for german books because I like the font. Enjoy your goodies. God bless❤❤

  50. Catching up on your videos after being off for a while. I lost my husband on Feb. 13 and have been busy with family for the last week. Things are calming down a little and starting the process of going through everything and getting all the paper work gathered up. Love your videos. What a great way to unwind from the stress of the day.
